You Can(’t) Find IT on eBay
Current mood: disappointed

Number of results for the following....

Skidz pants: zero.
IOU Sweatshirt: zero.

Flaming goat: 8.

So in other words, there's a better chance of me finding non-sense than a popular style from the late-80s.  :-(

The disappointment.

Proper Motivation
Current mood: Motivated
Category: Motivated Blogging

Not that anyone really cares probably...but since July I have packed on some serious pounds.  It started with a new drug I was prescribed, and gradually went downhill from there...until this past Tuesday when I weighed in at 204lbs.  Two-o-freakin' four.  I haven't been at that level in quite some time.  Needless to say, I was aghast.  All in all...since July that's roughly 30lbs, give or take a couple.  YIKES!

Well...as some know my Death Day is coming up in 3 1/2 months.  Yes, I turn 30 on August 31st.  I'm really not looking forward to it.  I fully plan on spending the day wallowing in self-pity barring a good reason to not do so (aka...TONS of alcohol).  So buy me presents, buy me drinks, just don't expect me to be lively.  lol

With those two things comes a certain level of motivation.  If Death Day must come, which there's really no way around it, I'll be damned if I'm going to look like this when that day comes.  I miss the days back in 2004 when I was in the best shape of my life.  Hovering between 155-160lbs, flat stomach, respectfully toned arms and chest...those days seem so far in the distant past.  (Check out my 2004 pics to see a more svelt, in shape, hotter version of me.  lol)

Well I'm not going to weigh 200lbs on my birthday.  I utterly refuse.  I'm not going to be in pictures of that day with a gut or manboobs.  I will settle for nothing but being able to slip into my favorite pants and my "touch me" shirt for that day.

I started back at the gym on Wednesday, concentrating mostly right now on some very intense half hour sessions of cardio work.  Thus far I have dropped 4lbs to an even deuce as of this morning.  Progress, definitely.

There are 16 weeks until my birthday...approx 4 months.  I think a goal of 10lbs per month is VERY doable, considering that's 2-3lbs/week, which would take me down to the 160s...which is pretty much within the normal range for a 5'9" frame.

So I've got a huge amount of motivation for the first time ever.  Armed with my trusty iPod I'm going to get back in shape...even if it kills me before Death Day.  lol

Visit Our City!
Current mood: cooky/wacky

This blog brought to you by the Chamber of Commerce of:

The happy inhabitants of the quaint community welcome you with a hello...

...and an ice cold Colt 45.

Like every city there is a main street down the middle which puts all points well within reach...

...though residents often complain of a strange scent.  Hmmph.

The scenic view offers many scenic sights, including the famous open range.

Errr....anyway....

There are fun activities for the entire family, pets included....

And everyone is welcome here, no matter what may interest them.

Hmmm....maybe this place isn't as great as I thought.  Oh well.

I’m Tired...Feeling a Little Out There...Why Not Blog???
Current mood: weird

This blog is brought to you by Hasbro, maker of the new game:

At lunchtime I sometimes feel the need to write.  Sometimes it's a witty survey, sometimes a blog.  I just finished off my lunch and decided to do a blog for a change.  Whats that...what did I have for lunch?  I'll do one better, I'll show you.

Trust me...it really wasn't as fulfilling as it sounds.

I ran out to get gas at lunch.  Can you freakin' believe gas prices these days?  Seriously, it's a damned joke.

See?  Guess that kinda says it all right there.

Not only that but it's time for road construction as well.  I can't even tell you how much I hate my drive to work in the morning on Rt 30...especially when I come upon this.

You can't begin to imagine the backup that causes.

All that not withstanding, the warm weather does mean it's time to do things outside again.  I too have been busy planting flowers and cleaning up the yard as most others have been.  Last weekend I went to my favorite garden center and bought a bunch of flowers and supplies for fixing up the front yard.  Still, I was left slightly confused at what exactly they were selling...

Umm...moving on.

The warmer weather also brings out the 'boys of summer'...that's right, baseball.  If you couldn't tell already I am a huge baseball fan.  My team isn't playing overly fabulous yet this year but the season is long and it's very promising.  Baseball has some unwritten rules that go with a "code of conduct" so to speak.  Some of those are not showing up the opposing team, not trying to run up the score...

...and not making fun of the umpire's endowment.  Poor bastard probably got ejected from the game after this scene.  It's not like the umpire could help it, he probably went to Allisonville Nursery.

Have a good weekend!

Political Burnout

Is anyone as tired of the presidential race as I am?  The campaign commercials in my area leading up to the PA Primary next Tuesday are really enough to make me projectile vomit.  I'm burnt out to the point I really don't give a damn who wins the nomination, because at this point I've almost resigned myself to the fact there's going to be President McCain, who at 71 will probably become senile like Reagan or just plain croke in the next 4 years.  Hillary and Barak have done nothing but beat the shit out of each other the past 4 1/2 months to a point they're both scarred, possibly irreperably.

Don't get me wrong, I used to be a huge Hillary supporter.  Her actions and the way her candidacy has been run have just totally burned me out.  I trust Obama about as much as my last ex.  McCain...don't even get me started.  Nader...please.

My ultimate dream is that when it comes down the the Democratic National Convention that no one has taken control of the race and that the committee members will have no faith in either candidate, and talk Al Gore into taking the spot.  As unlikely as that is a man can dream, can't he?  The "former next president of the United States" as he so well put in An Inconvenient Truth was always the guy I was hoping would run this year.  If he had I'm pretty confident he would have wrapped this up a long time ago.

Another dream of mine during the presidential race comes from the movie Brewster's Millions.  Anyone ever seen that or remember that?  Brewster (played by Richard Pryor) inherits $30 million from an eccentric millionaire.  The catch is he has 30 days to spend the $30 million in order to inherit the ultimate inheritance of $300 million.  In the end he puts the bulk of the money into a protest campaign for NYC mayor under the ticket "None of the Above".

Wouldn't that be just fantastic if the majority of people wrote in on the ballot "None of the Above"?  I mean seriously...what better way to shake up the country, get some of these asshole politicians either to take notice or out of office altogether than to file a ballot for none of the listed candidates.  Not to mention...wouldn't it be great to have a true common man of the people running things for once rather than rich elitist assholes who could care less about the majority of us?

No...I'm not bitter, just tired.  Tired of the accusations, tired of the dishonesty, tired of the personal attacks that were agreed to be avoided.  For the first time since I really started to pay attention to the country and state of the world, I don't give a damn, and that's sad.

And with that, I present the Canadian National Anthem:

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Who Was I 5 Years Ago???
Current mood: nostalgic

I decided to check out a blog I wrote when I just started blogging 5 years ago as a just coming out young gayling of 24.  It turns out 5 years ago today I was in the middle of a major life changing experience...visiting my uncle Lee when he lived in Fort Lauderdale.  This was my first big gay experience...basically if it was gay, it happened to me.  lol

Feel free to come along for the ride!
-------------------------------------

Monday 4/7/03:

Trip time!!!!! Hit the road at 2am takeoff from Dayton at 6. Switch planes at Atlanta, then I arrive in Fort Lauderdale at 10:30! WOW is it nice there already. Find Uncle Lee...guy hasn’t changed a bit in the 8 years it’s been since I saw him last. We go back to the house and settle in, then go out and see the town. Then, time for 2 new experiences for Tony...his first stop in a porn shop and his first Gay Bar! The bar is called Alibi...nice place! DAMN the margaritas are EXCELLENT! So excellent in fact that I had either 6 or 7. LOL Lee only bought me one. All the rest were bought by other people! Fresh meat I guess...hehe Well, *cough* nothing else much happened *cough* that night *cough* and basically just went to bed *cough*. LOL Which is true, after I got sick from that last margarita. Hehehe

Tuesday 4/8/03:

Vacation continues. Lee made me breakfast and we went to the beach at Sebastian street. DAMN, what an absolute perfect day. Oh my! Around 83-85 degrees, perfect breeze, gorgeous sun, and killer scenery...hehehe  Stayed at the beach for 2 1/2 hours and I got some nice sun. After that came back and washed off, and relaxed a little. Went to Alibi at 4, and had some more drinks. Only 2 margaritas today, I didn’t want to pass out today. lol Lee’s friends Werner and Billy were there again today, as they were yesterday. They are great guys...excellent to talk to. Then a little while later, Darrel got there. Darrel is kinda sorta living with Lee. Maybe I was too drunk to remember everything correctly...but this boy hott!!!!!! Quite often his attention is directed at me. And naturally I’m loving it! lol A couple firsts for me have happened with this boy...I’ll leave that up to your imagination.  But anyway, we have a few drinks then go back to Lee’s. Another one of Lee’s friends, Paul, comes for dinner...another knock down gorgeous boy. One thing’s for sure, Uncle Lee has great taste. Had dinner, some nice conversation, then watched almost all of the Cher concert on NBC. Paul left, but the night continued. Went to bed around...well...late.

Wednesday 4/9/03:

Wednesday we got up, and didn’t do much of anything. Weather was kind of icky…off and on showers in the morning. No beach today!!! However, this did allow for Lee and I to watch the tearing down of the big Saddam Hussein statue in Baghdad. One of those moments you’re kinda glad you got to see. Amazing seeing the reactions of all the Iraqi people. I wasn’t sure at first if this war was a good idea…after seeing their reactions I know it was right. {WOW did my views on THAT ever change…lol} At lunch time Lee and I went to a place called Hamburger Mary’s. WOW…huge food! Huge burgers! Huge chili! HOTT waiters...lol  After that we went to the mall...and got my left ear pierced! Yes, a permanent souvenir for this excellent trip. Then we went to Werner’s house for me to "fix" his computer. Went back home briefly, and I learned some new things…lol Then we went to Alibi. Had my usual margarita…lol Then Darrel came! Had several more drinks. Then I really started getting hit on by one particular guy in the bar...Stuart. He came up to me and asked if I was a bartender somewhere else...lol   Obviously I’m not. So after talking for a few moments he goes back to where he’s sitting. A couple minutes later I have a new margarita heading my way from one of the bartenders, Michael. Surprise, it’s from Stuart! I went down and thanked him and talked more. I told him straight out that I had plans that night with Darrel…Stuart was not so happy. So after a little while we left. Ended up going to eat at a nice Mexican/Cuban restaurant, and then went to another bar called Jackhammers (I think). Not quite the cozy atmosphere that is in Alibi...but still some nice scenery. And once again, I’m like fresh blood in a shark pool. Luckily only a couple peeps in there, but one was obviously drunk/high/whatever. Unfortunately he found me very stunning and hard as I tried couldn’t shake the guy. Most annoying...he would stand right in your face and stumble thru his slurred words. At the bar Darrel and I had some fun and this guy is right behind me staring at the back of my head. I swear to god I still have a hole burnt in the back of my head from this queen. Then we went back home after only one drink and continued my voyage...lol...having my first real sexual experience with another man. God Darrel is a sweety.

Thursday 4/10/03:

Thursday got up and Lee went to go work out, leaving just me and Darrel. We talked a lot amongst other things. Then showered and went to breakfast then came home, packed up and went to the beach. Darrel complained a lot that it was so cold…I enjoyed making fun of him. Silly Florida boys. Stayed at the beach for 3 hours and got some nice sun. The scenery wasn’t quite as nice as it was Tuesday but still nice. After that we went and had lunch at Mangos and went to another bar...The Cathode Ray.   We invited a guy to sit with us cuz there’s really only one table in the main bar area. Clint I think his name was. The 4 of us ended going back to his hotel room to see the skyline and such. Nice view. Left, and went back to The Cathode Ray. Damn, I must be really hot. Another guy made it a point to let everyone know that he really wanted me, but he was incredibly drunk. LOL Had so much fun at that bar...good time! Went back home, and Darrel and I were talking in my room, and it continued in the laundry room. When I say this I truly mean it...he said some of the absolute nicest things to me I have ever heard. OMG...he is such an incredible sweetheart. After talking to him I honestly had to go into the bathroom to cry. No one has said to me the things he said. After cleaning myself up a bit went out to the couch to watch TV, and Darrel and I cuddled up on the couch watching Who’s Line. Then we both fell asleep, cuddled together. I woke up around 11, and Lee had already gone to bed. I woke Darrel up and I went to my room and Darrel went to Lee’s. I had a hard time sleeping.

Friday 4/11/03:

Friday morning...woke up at 3...had a real hard time sleeping. Too much going thru my head I guess. Got dressed...checked in online for my flights. Then it’s time to say goodbye. Lee said Darrel was asleep, but when I got in there he was very wide awake. He said some more very sweet things. Lee finally basically had to pull me out the door...lol Plane out of Fort La-Dee-Da was 20 minutes late taking off cuz their security check at the gate held people up like CRAZY! Late enough that I almost missed my connecting flight in Atlanta to get to Dayton. Got back to Dayton, and drove to Tiffin to meet my new co-workers...all seem great so far!  Miss Lee and Darrel BIG TIME.

Saturday 4/12/03:

Saturday I woke up my usual Fort Lauderdale time...about 10 till 8. Piddled around and had breakfast. I talked a little to Lee and Darrel this morning! God I miss them. Lee sent me a pair of pictures...one of me "handcuffed" while sleeping...

...and another very nice one which will go nowhere off my computer. LOL It was ONLY 70 degrees there this morning. *sigh* Went and visited my parents. Luckly they didn’t grill me too much about my week...lol  There was kind of an awkward spot in there...that uncomfortable awkward silence. Mom asked if we went to a nude beach and I said no...she said something to the affect of "Why, Lee could check out the guys and Tony could check out the girls." Silence. I just kind of gave her a look, and that was the end of that. Reaction on the earring...dad said "Nice earring", but sounded like he meant "What the hell are you doing wearing an earring"...lol  Mom didn’t say anything about it for nearly an hour...not until dad started tugging at his ear did she say anything, which was basically a way too forced "Nice earring!" LOL

I have decided that Monday at drinking night I will give my website to a few more of my ex-coworkers. In other words, come out to them. I have also decided that next Saturday I will come out to mom. I am ready to do this. I’m ready to move on in life. This past week was more of an education than I could ever have possibly imagined. I’m now more comfortable with myself than I have EVER been. I feel a confidence in myself that I haven’t felt since grade school! I guess when you’re not hiding from yourself it tends to help things. So, along with my new job starting, so starts the rest of my life. Part 2, where I fix everything I’ve broken in Part 1. The adventure is now just beginning!

Man Fatally Shoots Wife while Installing Satellite Dish

KANSAS CITY, MO -- A Missouri man shot his wife while trying to install their satellite television dish.

She died in what appears to be an accident.

The man apparently wanted to punch a hole in the wall to run some wires.

When drilling didn’t work, he used bullets.

He says he had no idea his wife was standing outside in the line of fire.

In Deepwater, the homes are secluded. What happened here opened a river of emotions.

"It’s just tragic. It’s just you know, it’s just such a tragic thing," neighbor Margaret McCaslin said.

Outside their white house, Ronald Long, 39, and his wife Patsy, worked to install a TV satellite dish Saturday evening. Punching a hole through the outside wall to run the wires failed.

Investigators said Long grabbed his .22 caliber handgun, thinking his wife was inside.

"He tried a few things. After repeated attempted to get the hole through the wall in sort of a desperate measure he shot outside through the wall and hit his wife in the chest," Henry County Sheriff Office Spokesperson Major Robert Hills said.

The couple’s young son and teenage daughter ran out of the house to discover their mom shot dead.

The sheriff is investigating it as an accident.

Neighbors are helping the family cope. "Sometimes people will decide an idea is a good one and it ends tragically. That’s what happened here," McCaslin said.

Family members did not want to talk and are asking for privacy.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Department is finishing the report before handing the case over to the prosecutor.

While the shooting appears to be an accident, Long could still face charges.
