Pretty dang cool!
Current mood: adventurous
I've been writing at Universal for a little over three years. Ive been living in Nashville for Five. I had previously been make trips here for 20 some odd years writing and wishing. Often for inspiration to keep writing I would go the the Bluebird Cafe, the nine o-clock show. Now to the songwriter community it is common knowledge that the best writers in the world play the nine o-clock show at the Bluebird Cafe. I would watch, learn, and dream of one day being there. Tonight at 9 I play the Bluebird Cafe with David Lee, Ed Hill and Luke Laird. Apparently some dreams really do come true. That is pretty dang cool! PS its been sold out for three days! Love, Trav

London
I just got back from London. I went to write and write I did! I wrote with some incredibly talented people and had a chance to get them as individuals and not just writers. It was an amazing experience to say the least. I came home with ten new songs all of which I must say are pretty freaking good. It was also a great time for me n a personal level. I realized just how far i have come since I was there last year and it felt great. For those of you who actually read these you may know the last three years have been extremely hard. I can't tell you why, all I know is I went through a very dark place. Probably the hardest three years of my life. That's about all the details I'm willing to give right now. Anyway, one morning while in London I woke up and smiled. I mean a real from the heart I feel great about life-I'm back in sync with the universe smile. I took the long way around making sure to hit every bump, roll down every hill and crawl painfully up every mountain. But I made it! I am in a good place now, a great place. I feel alive again, and I love it! Look for new songs from a great life experience in the UK. Love and laughter, Trav

Adam Brand
Current mood: excited
Category: Music
I wrote with Adam Brand and Mark Stephen Jones Thursday and it went very well. It was great to see Adam again. He has been touring Australia promoting his last record which went Gold by the way. Now he is back writing and recording his next project and it looks like I will have a few more songs on this one as well. Check him out if you get a chance he is really good.

Universal Music Publishing Group
Current mood: grateful
Category: Music
Well, it's official! I am now Staff writer at Universal. I have been writing with some of the best writers in Nashville as well making some great new friends. I signed yesterday the 14th of March at 10:45, that same day I got my first cut, "Open Ended Heartache." It was recorded by an artist from Australia named Adam Brand. He did a great job. The nest day he cut two more of my songs. So I'm one day into my deal and have three cuts. That's a good start. I'm hoping for a few more cuts. The more cuts the more money for the Meadows family. This truly is a dream come true. Here is a little irony for you. I tried for close to 15 years to make it as a christian artist, but no matter what I did it just didn't work out. Universal hired me as a country writer, too funny. So there you go Travis Meadows is a writer for Universal and loving every minute of it!
