i bought a TRUCK, its offical!
Current mood: chipper
Category: Automotive
yes, so actually i bought my Eddie Bauer Ford Expedition about 2 weeks ago, but i bought it from carmax and they have a return policy so i didn't want to blog about it untill i made sure i was going to keep it, lol.
well, its offical. i got my TEXAS TRUCK liscense plates in yesterday's mail.... and i can't wait to put them on my truck. (its in the shop right now, nothing major.... just the CD changer was missing 2 sleeves and it needed a new right windshild wiper, etc.)
now for my review of carmax - the price on the truck was EXCELLENT and i think they way overpaid me for my trade in, but their customer service SUCKS. overall -financally- i got the best deal by going to carmax. they paid me more for my trade in then what kelly blue book valued it at (and much more than i owed) and they sold me the truck for less than what it was valued at in kelly blue book, and much less than it was worth, so i feel as though i got a bad ass deal. this truck purchase was in no way impulsive. i have been looking for an expedition for about 5 years, but since i wanted an Eddie Bauer model (and ONLY Eddie Bauer) i had to wait to get it. I did settle and buy a used one, but i can't say that i mind it in the least. it is my first used vehicle and even though their are some minor problems carmax has been great about fixing them, and making the car like new.
my biggest complaint was their customer service from their sales people is terrable, everyone else in service and closing, and the managers are all nice though.
i don't want to complain about their sales representive, so i won't, just know she wasn't great.

Ok, so last night was the third annual Celebration of Women at St. John’s. I had never gone to own before - let alone host a table - so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was awesome!
The overall theme of the event was Health, Wealth, and Happiness. Then each table hostess choose a theme for their table and invited their friends to come out for the evening. My theme was Old Texas. Other tables were themed from Frogs, Tea Party, Gardens, Cowboys, Island Getaway, etc. I made appetizers for my guest including homemade spinach dip in a homemade bread bowl and a veggie tray. We were waited on by the Men’s Ministry. The leader of the Men’s Ministry Male Waiters was Carl Benton. I used to work for Carl while I was pregnant at Polydyn. (www.polydyn.com) it was one of the coolest jobs I have ever had and they were very relaxed in my schedule because of my bedrest and sickness. If I needed time off I could have it. I love Carl (and his wife Rose, and his Daughter Amy who hosted my baby shower) they are awesome people. Amy is pregnant with her 3rd child and I can’t wait to meet the new member of the Dean Racing Team.... But anyways back to the dinner....
Each table sat a different amount of people, and tickets were $10 each. The ticket included a catered dinner, guest speakers and entertainment, and an awesome raffle. (I won some Tupperware - a mommy’s dream!) Other prizes were trips to spas and all things girlie like that.
Our guest speakers and entertainers were as follows:
Andie Roeder - a 17 year old HARPIST. I almost cried when she played Amazing Grace. Well, I almost cry every time I hear it, not just when it comes from a Harp. Let me tell you that it is a beautiful instrument. I almost wish I would of learned how to play the harp instead of the Alto Sax.
Dr. Desiree Jones (Health) - a Harvard graduate that has dedicated her life to finding out WHY women’s health is the way it is, not just treating symptoms. (As a table host I got a copy of her newest book for free. I’ll post more about it when I read it.)
Cy-Fair Singers - these girls have won state and national competions and they sang a few of my favorite country songs. One of them wrote her own music and played guitar. She reminded me a lot of Taylor Swift.
Debbie Brewer (Wealth) - She spoke about how you can be the richest man on earth, but not have any money. This is something we all know already deep inside, but it was great to hear her speak about it.
CANDICE MYERS - This was my favorite part of the evening!!!!! I’ll try to find a music video of hers online and post it at the end of this blog.... She has been nominated for CMA’s artist of the year three times and I got all three of her albums autographed last night. Here is a little bit about Candice (copied from her website):
"I think it’s Impossible to truly minister to people without relying on and drawing from your own personal experiences. That is what your heart knows, and having some kind of testimony for Christ, no matter what that is, is what makes us able to minister to all. My music ministry is from my heart, and I’m included in It, which means so is my past, present, and future, good and bad. The good and positive things in my life reveal God’s generosity, and the bad, or negative things reveal His grace." * - Candice Myers, February 2000
Candice was born into a rodeo/ranching family in Kansas. Her grandparents owned a large working ranch in western Kansas and her father traveled the rodeo circuit. By the age of three, Candice’s grandparents had passed away, her parents were divorcing and she made a move to the city - Dodge City, Kansas - where her mother would struggle for the next couple of years to raise Candice and her baby brother alone. When she was five, God brought a wonderful man into their lives, who Candice’s mother would eventually marry, and, along with his two daughters and a daughter they would later have together, they began what is today referred to as the "blended family",
Candice’s biological father came in and out of her life in those early years and Candice and her brother would travel the rodeo circuit with him during the summers. It was at this time that Candice was exposed to ’more real life than a kid should ever see’. Some of those early experiences were painful and difficult to overcome but through the love and support of those closest to her and with an inner strength provided by God, she can now testify openly about that time and has even written a song, "Fly, Angel, Fly", that is on her first CD.
Candice was exposed to music at a very early age when she began piano lessons at age five. She was singing professionally by the age of twelve. She went to college on a music scholarship and used these talents along with her strong vocal ability to help her become Miss Kansas in 1988, She went on to compete in the 1989 Miss America pageant. This opportunity enabled Candice to truly develop as a performer and gave her the desire to pursue a career in the entertainment field. This burning desire would eventually turn into the music ministry that the Lord had in mind for her from the beginning.
In 1991, Candice made the decision to put down roots in Texas as her second home and this is where she lives today with her husband, Rope, their two sons, Layton and Holden and daughter Tierney. Rope is the 2001 World Champion Steer Wrestler for the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association). The couple has combined the opportunity of Rope’s travel schedule and Candice’s musical talent to become very involved with the numerous Christian Cowboy organizations. Candice frequently provides worship music and concerts for rodeo church services across the country.
And this ministry continues to grow today. In February 1999, Candice released her first album, ’Beyond the Temporary’, which produced three top 5 Christian Country radio singles. Her second album, ’Straight and Narrow’ released in January of 2001, and includes three top 5 singles, including the song, "The Blood", which was the 1 CCRB song in October 2003. Her latest project, "Through the Window", is receiving critical acclaim in Christian Country and mainstream circles. Candice is a three-time nominee for the CCMA’s Female Vocalist of the Year. As a new artist this has been a strong affirmation of the message Candice strives to convey in her Music. It’s an industry where the focus is not just on the charts or album sales but on the ministry and call you have received from God. Candice’s comfort and ease in all situations, with all kinds of people have enabled her to minister in a very personal way, whether on stage in front of hundreds or one-on-one with someone God has placed in her path.

Marshall Combs (Happiness) - he spoke about all of the ways to overcome the sadness and depression that we all encounter from time to time. It was a very touching speech, and well worth the wait. He was the last speaker of the evening, but it was awesome!
i have never loved anyone as much as i love sam and casey. casey is my best friend and i couldn’t imagine my life with out him. sam is the biggest motivator in my life right now. everything i do is for him. he means more to me than anything ever could.
i have been so blessed. i am very gratefull for all that has been given to me, and for all that i have. to be married to my best friend, and to have the most amazing and beautifull son in all of the world.
<33
here is sam enjoying a bubble bath after a nice plate of fresh blueberries.
OK, so i have never heard a George Strait song that i didn’t like.... but this touched me. Read the lyrics (or watch the video i posted at the end of this blog) even if you don’t like country - its touching.
Hope you all had a happy easter, i know i did! i love hanging out with my family and thats what we did all day today. Plus my dad’s birthday fell on easter this year which was neat because that only happens once in a life time.
good night!
P.S. Ashley do you remember fighting over which one of us would marry George while we were in World Geography together? I think brandi wanted to marry him too. We got met other men and had babies with them... not to mention George is like 36 years OLDER than we all are.
I just walked down the street to the coffee shop
had to take a break I’d been by her side for eighteen hours straight I saw a flower growing in the middle of the sidewalk pushing up through the concrete like it was planted right there for me to see the flashin’ lights, the honkin’ horns all seemed to fade away in the shadow of that hospital at 5:08 I saw God today
Chorus: I’ve been to church I’ve read the book I know he’s here, but I don’t look near as often as I should Yeah, I know I should His fingerprints are everywhere I’d just slow down to stop and stare opened my eyes and man I swear I saw God today
I saw a couple walking by they were holding hands Man, she had that glow yeah I couldn’t help but notice she was starting to show it stood there for a minute takin’ the sky lost in that sunset a splash of amber melted in the shades of red
Chorus
I got my face pressed up against the nursery glass She’s sleeping like a rock My name on her wrist wearing tiny pink socks She’s got my nose, she’s got her mama’s eyes My brand new baby girl She’s a miracle I saw God today

what i gave up for lent, and the switch to whole grains and organics...
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes
writen at work, posted online later.
For those of you who have known me a very long time, know that I am always sick. I throw up at least once a day for no reason; I get dizzy and sometimes pass out for no reason also. All of this since comes and goes for months at a time since I was about 5 or 6 years old.
So I have been to all kinds of doctors, and nothing is ?wrong?.
Casey and I recently have begun to switch to organic and whole grain foods. We haven?t switched everything over yet, but it is a process. I buy organic milk and eggs always because they are easy to come across. I get organic fruits and vegetables as much as I can too, but there are times when I want something that isn?t available in organic at that particular store. The other day I got all organic fruits and veggies except for the carrots because they were out. I started eating organic after I read an article that said switching to organic can help with chronic ear infections, nausea, vomiting, and headaches?. All of which I have. I started switching to whole grains under the advice of our nutritionist that Casey and I go to once a month. Whole grains affect your blood sugar differently and are easier for the body to digest (not to mention healthier for you). Almost everything is available in whole grain versions ? pastas, hot pockets, and even corndogs!
Also, I gave up all drinks other than water for lent. No, I am not catholic. I was raised in a combination of Lutheran and Pentecostal beliefs and I really am trying to ?find? God right now (I believe in a God, but I do not believe in the Bible at this point, it is something that I have been struggling with since I was very young. I am trying to work on that before I can move forward and have a relationship with the Christian God, if ever) None-the-less I decided to participate in lent this year. Originally I was only going to give up caffeine, seems hard ? no coffees and no cokes ? but root beer doesn?t have caffeine, nor does decaf tea and cokes?. So that wouldn?t be that hard. Lent is about self sacrifice, to me, so I decided on giving up everything but water. LITERALLY! I have not had any coke, coffee, juice, tea, or anything other than water and the occasional drink of milk from the bottom of my cereal bowl. It was really hard at first but I have not cheated, not even once! There are only 3 more days until the end of lent, and I am so proud of myself. I have had nothing but water since Ash Wednesday!!!!
So, the point of this blog was to say that since all of this switching over the last month or so I have stopped throwing up everyday and only get sick once or twice a week now. I have also stopped getting dizzy and passing out. In fact I haven?t had one of my dizzy spells since March 6th when I was in the car with Casey and that was just a few hours after I had a minor outpatient surgical procedure. So I am not sure if it was from the anesthetic that put me asleep for God knows how long or what. I just feel healthier overall since all of the changes? just thought I?d share incase any of you were in the same boat. J
PS you?d be amazed at how easy it is to drink a full gallon of water everyday if you gave up everything else for 40 days!

Ok, so you know how one day you are just driving home from where-ever-the-hell you are and you hear a song that just touches you? Well that happens to me every now and then. I?ll hear a song and I get Goosebumps, I relate to it?. There are a few songs that touch me like that and I have wanted to post their lyrics for a long time. I have a little down time today (I blog at work and post at home due to restricted internet access) so I thought I?d share:
Letter to me (Brad Paisley) ? now I am not a Brad Paisley fan for the most part, but this song is great. My favorite line is ?have no fear, these are no where near the best days of your life? Its talking about high school, and damn he is right. High school wasn?t that bad, but these are the best years. Spending time with my husband, watching my son grow up, working and making a career out of something that I love?. All are much better than the mess that was high school. Also, when he says ? you should really thank Mrs. Brinkman, she spent so much extra time its like she see the diamond underneath and she polishes you till you shine!? reminded me of my favorite high school teacher, Mrs. Eardley. She tough creative writing and she understood me like no other teacher did.
If I could write a letter to me And send it back in time to myself at 17 First I’d prove it’s me by saying look under your bed There’s a Skoal can and a Playboy no one else would know you hid And then I’d say I know it’s tough When you break up after seven months And yeah I know you really liked her and it just don’t seem fair All I can say is pain like that is fast and it’s rare
And oh you got so much going for you going right But I know at 17 it’s hard to see past Friday night She wasn’t right for you And still you feel like there’s a knife sticking out of your back And you’re wondering if you’ll survive You’ll make it through this and you’ll see You’re still around to write this letter to me
At the stop sign at Tomlinson and Eighth Always stop completely don’t just tap your breaks And when you get a date with Bridgett make sure the tank is full On second thought forget it that one turns out kinda cool Each and every time you have a fight Just assume you’re wrong and dad is right And you should really thank Mrs. Brinkman She spent so much extra time It’s like she sees the diamond underneath And she’s polishin’ you ’til you shine
And oh you got so much going for you going right But I know at 17 it’s hard to see past Friday night Tonight’s the bonfire rally But you’re staying home instead because if you fail Algebra Mom and dad will kill you dead Trust me you’ll squeak by and get a C And you’re still around to write this letter to me
You’ve got so much up ahead You’ll make new friends You should see your kids and wife And I’d end by saying have no fear These are nowhere near the best years of your life
I guess I’ll see you in the mirror When you’re a grown man P.S. go hug Aunt Rita every chance you can
And oh you got so much going for you going right But I know at 17 it’s hard to see past Friday night I wish you’d study Spanish I wish you’d take a typing class I wish you wouldn’t worry, let it be I’d say have a little faith and you’ll see
If I could write a letter to me To me
If you are reading this (Tim Macgraw) ? I am a little macgaw fan, but this song give me goosebumps everytime I hear it. My favorite line is ?I?m in a better place Soldiers live in peace and angels sing amazing grace?. When my grandfather, who faught in two wars, was buried I was ok through out the funeral, I was upset and teary, but I kept it together for my mom mostly. When the soldiers played TAPS and did the 21 gun sulute I just broke down, and that?s what I think of when I hear that line of this song. Even though my grandfather didn?t die in war, it still means something to me.
If you?re reading this My momma is sitting there Looks like I only got a one way ticket over here I sure wish I could give you one more kiss War was just a game we played when we were kids Well I?m laying down my gun I?m hanging up my boots I?m up here with God And we?re both watching over you
So lay me down In that open field out on the edge of town And know my soul Is where my momma always prayed where it would go. If you?re reading this I?m already home.
If you?re reading this Half way around the world I won?t be there to see the birth of our little girl I hope she looks like you I hope she fights like me Stand up for the innocent and the weak I?m laying down my gun Hanging up my boots Tell dad I don?t regret that id follow in his shoes
So lay me down In that open field out on the edge of town And know my soul is where my momma always prayed where it would go If you?re reading this, I?m already home
If you?re reading this, there is going to come a day You move on and find someone else and that?s okay Just remember this Im in a better place Soldiers live in peace and angels sing amazing grace
So lay me down In that open field out on the edge of town And know my soul is where my momma prayed where that it would go If youre reading this If youre reading this Im already home

____________________________________________________ Tonight the voters of South Carolina gave John McCain an important victory on his path to the Republican Nomination.
Now that John McCain has won both the New Hampshire and South Carolina primaries, he has passed the historical test for Republican candidates and is on course to win. He has the momentum, the drive, and is the only candidate that is ready to lead on day one. And he will!
Although we celebrate a big win tonight, we know that we still have a lot more work ahead of us. Most importantly, we need to prepare for elections in Florida on January 29th and in 21 states on "Super Tuesday," February 5th.
Help keep the momentum going tonight!
1. Donate Now. Your donation to our victory fund will be put to work immediately in Florida and Super Tuesday states.
PS. Donate tonight and we'll put your donation to work immediately to win in Florida and Super Tuesday states. We're meeting first thing on Monday to finalize our strategy, and by donating online tonight we can make sure your donation is used most effectively. And don't forget to send this letter to three of your friends to tell them why you are supporting the next President of the United States, John McCain!
first of all YAY that mccain won, in my opinion the best canadate running.
secondly, i was a little(ok, very!) disappointed that hillary made it, but i respect everyone's opinion. you see, i am not one of those folks that think freedoms/rights only apply to them *ahem*
i know this is a late blog, but hey i only myspace it up on the weekends now.
