TWiN London Friends
General guidelines for acceptance: In order to try to create an environment which encourages networking we have chosen to limit our range of MySpace Friends to the following categories: - poets
- poetry events
- poetry awards
- poetry event organisers
- poetry event venues
- poetry publishers
- poetry books and publications
- poetry broadcasters: TV, radio, internet
- poetry reviewers
- poetry and spoken word music and musicians
- poetry theatre
- poetry films and film-makers
- poetry schools
- poetry educators and students
- poetry enthusiasts*
In addition to these poetry-related categories we also encourage involvement by the following:
- good causes which allow the participation of poets
- technicians and sound studios which provide facilities for poets
- musicians who are also involved in poetry
- musicians and composers who work with poets
- actors/voice-over artists who do poetry readings or work with poets
- public libraries that promote their poetry collections
Our goal is to provide a relaxed and open environment that encourages poets (and particularly MySpace Music poets) to explore each other's work without this page becoming some form of elitist collective.
We want to encourage individual networking between MySpace Friends so that future projects such as events and anthologies can become easier to develop and to promote. We would also like to encourage the development of new genres and hybrid art-forms which incorporate poetry as an essential element.
We would be grateful to hear from you about this approach and any ideas which could help raise the profile of poetry.
We also would like to offer our apologies to all those whose requests have been turned down because they did not fit into any of the categories listed above and hope that they will understand our reasons for doing this.
*Poetry Enthusiasts : by this we mean anyone who has a genuine interest in poetry. We ask only that you make this plain to everyone by including poetry in the list of your interests on your profile or in your blog in order to help us to demonstrate that an interest in poetry and spoken word is more widespread than is assumed.
Please note that the list of categories is likely to grow as we try to correct any oversights. We are already deeply grateful for your show of support and your continued interest. Thank you.

Apologies for the lack of content so far...

I will send out updates to the blog in the form of bulletins initially.
There will be a side panel on the page to list as many of the London poets and spoken word artists as possible.
This is to overcome the restriction on the number of Top Friends (currently limited to 40).
It will take time to make this comprehensive. Please bear with us...
It should probably be in some form of order - possibly alphabetical.
If you have a strong feeling about this one way or another then please get in touch. Perhaps alphabetical on a first name basis might make sense.
We want to create a resource to much easier for busy and over-worked event organisers to find the talent they need in order to put on more productions.
Please continue to send us suggestions for new potential new members and keep us informed of your events...
This is your resource and like the main TWiN site it will be guided by the inspiration of the many participants who wish to share their ideas and aspirations.
