Hello Everyone! Time to kick off a new school year!!!

We will be in the Quad on Wednesday 8/27/08 from 10am till 2pm. Come join us or stop by...maybe even get your face painted! We will be raffling off some lovely little herb plants, rosemary that is:) We will also have some cold watermelon, but it'll go fast! See ya there!

Also, don't forget that our first meeting will be that afternoon(wed 8/27 @ 4:30pm) in the Forum Room of the Student Union.

We are screen printing second hand shirts this year -they rock!!!!!!! We will also have local orgs  there to let you know what they are doing in the community.
Save the Horse Farm, EarthShare Gardens, and some hopefulls are Critical Mass, Beausoliel: LA Solar Home

We need your help: putting up posters now, tomorrow and wed; passing out flyers, and printing shirts thurs night! Pretty pretty please!?!

spring 08 join the fun
Current mood: peaceful

SPEAK will be hosting a swamp-side pot luck this coming wednesday Feb 20th. it is in celebration of the Lunar Eclipse. so come out with some food and a friend to Lake Martin at 7pm. ( you may want to bring blankets, flashlights, lanterns, bugspray, and what ever else you think may be useful)

next friday SPEAK will host the first Guerrilla Theatre of the year. we will show "Why We Fight". the show starts at 6:30pm. it will be on the wall at fletcher hall. blankets, bugspray, and food are a plus.

we also have picked the date for SPEAK's annual '4 bands 4 bucks'. it will be held at 307 downtown this year and will be Saturday April 19th. we would like some help designing a t-shirt. pref. something original.

for those of you who need the reminder our meetings are at 4:30pm every wednesday, and our group is free to join.

next tuesday, feb. 19th we will be meeting in the union at 4pm for chalking for Guerrilla Theatre. we would love for you to join us for a fun afternoon of walking and chalking. 

so here's a recap:

Wednesday 20th, 4:30pm Meeting Union; 7pm swampside potluck Lake Martin

 Friday 22nd, 6:30pm Guerrilla Theatre Fletcher Hall

oh!!! Saturday, Feb 23rd a few of us are going to explore Lafayette's worst sidewalks and body chalk them (you know like the cops do when someone's been killed) then take pictures. you'll see what it's all about if you show up. if you would like to join us for that just email Sunshine ( top friend 3 and V.P. of SPEAK) about it.

today at our meeting we may be taking pictures for the year book, so dress green!!! also THIS WEEKEND we are recycling at the Festival in the park. setup is this friday. come to the meeting for the where and when. also this friday we're going to be recycling on campus at noon! we meet behind the student union. Saturday and Sunday we'll be recycling in the park from 11am to 8pm.

*this Friday is critical mass!!!! grab your bike and meet us out at Parc Sans Souci at 5pm!!!!!! ( that's downtown by the water fountain) after critical mass there is a LaHub meeting. go to critical mass for more info on LaHub.

there are new pictures up on this page of the FreakOuts we've had so far this year. there will be more soon!!!!

*also the night of the full moon this month (friday the 26th) there will be a masquerade drum circle pot-luck in the park around sunset.
