Home, Sweet Home.

WOW! I'm back in the U.S. of A.!!!!! We've been touring around the world for the past month or so and have seen so many crazy new things! We toured South Africa for the first time ever and it was an amazing place. The people were all great and the scenery was beautiful. We didn't sleep much, but looking back it was all worth it. I'm in Hawaii now and have been relaxing for the last day. Chris, Grant, Josiah and I all rented scooters and drove around Oahu all day yesterday. We found this super cool inlet and went swimming for a bit, and then had a wonderful dinner. It was the first time all tour I've just felt relaxed. It was actually our first real day off all tour. Well deserved.

So we play Pipeline Cafe tonight and then it's home tomorrow! I'm excited to see my wife for a few days of peace, but I can't really rest too long, because Thursday, Ryan and I are going to be shooting the new fall tour projection. I'm really excited about it. The entire set is going to be dealing with the end of the world and humanity kind of ending itself. A lot of the new lyrics touch on these issues in different ways, and once I saw the set list, it just made sense to tie it all in visually. I'm going to try and take pictures and update the site so you guys can keep up with the production of it.

I also just finished producing the new Almost e.p., which turned out better than I expected. Aaron wanted to record it on off days in different studios and hotel rooms on Mayhem, so we did. it was the best use of free time ever. It's crazy to think we made a whole record in between shows.

In other news, Grant and I were flipping through the channels today in our hotel room and came across this new MTV show called, "Paris Hilton's: My New BFF". We've officially lost all respect and dignity in ourselves and fellow human beings. When did "Music Television" become about superficial socialite b.s.? I guess it's been this way for about 10 ears but it just struck the official chord in me just this morning. With this I present to you the, Tim, Grant and Chris's "top shows never to watch, unless you aspire to become mindless and lose a grasp on all reality, and in turn wish to be socially corroded from the inside out....congratulations, you are an official zombie incapable of seeing our world for what it is" list:

Paris Hilton's BFF
Gossip Girl
The Hills
O.C.

Anything to do with any Simpson girls
Super Sweet 16
I love New York
Flavor of Love
Rock of Love
Tila Tequila
TMZ
anything with Perez Hilton
Date My Mom
Next
I Love Money
Keeping Up With The Kardashians
Denise Richards: It's Complicated
The Girl's Next Door
Living Lohan
Real Housewives of New York
Kimora

This is just the start. It's your turn readers. The list must go on. Think of all the paintings that could be painted, or songs that could be written and sung, or films shot in the hours upon hours we are hypnotized by watching "famous" people live their lives so unfortunately. The very audiences these shows target are the same people that can change the world. It's your call. Much love.

Update about Brisbane and Sydney show changes

I have a message from AJ the promoter of the Underoath Australian tour that I would like to share with everyone:

I would like to make it very clear to fans of Underoath, the circumstances that have caused the changing of the tour dates.

A few weeks ago, the guitarist from the band, Escape The Fate, exposed his genitals to some very underage boys while on stage at The Arena in Brisbane. As most of you know, this came on the back of the "public disturbance" at the Parkway Drive show at the same venue a few months ago.

As you can appreciate, QLD Police no longer trust this venue to perform the requisite due diligence before holding all ages shows. You can kind of understand why.

The band and I were notified a few days ago, via the venue, that the license for this show would not be granted. Of course, we tried to move the show while keeping it on the same night, so as not to disrupt the other cities and shows.

You see, as well as the convenience to everyone concerned, swapping shows around at short notice is very costly as you lose airfares, deposits on accommodation, a rise in freight costs, etc. The band also have to reschedule a massive media schedule, etc.

Unfortunately, the only other venue in Brisbane, The Tivoli, was not available on the night and we have had to reshuffle the dates in order to save the tour.

A few of you have somehow gained the impression that the move was made due to the financial benefit arising from the sale of the extra 190 capacity at The Tivoli. WRONG.

While we here at KMW and our friends at Underoath's management have never laid any claim to genius, you can be assured that we would not shuffle the dates, incur approximate $13,860 worth of additional costs, and piss off our valued fans in order to sell what amounts to be around $7,000 in extra tickets. DO THE MATH.

In 16 years of promoting bands, I have seldom seen band ,members spend over an hour in a sh*@!y Melbourne back alley, next to stinking bins and in the pouring rain to shake every hand, sign every last autograph and take every last photo for the assembled fans. So to be honest, when I hear or see this band, of all bands, being accused of messing their fans about, it makes me really, really annoyed.

Sincerely, A.J

BRISBANE AND SYDNEY CHANGE OF VENUE More tickets going on sale

I want everyone to know Underoath had no choice in this decision, they probably still don't even know about the change. A band that will remain nameless did something in the club in Brisbane that caused them to lose their all ages license. When we had to move clubs the only available date was a different day and there was nothing anyone can do. The band isn't happy about this change and its going to cost them money and less free time in one of their favorite countries in the world. We were trying to highlight that there are now more tickets available in Brisbane and thought we were hopefully making a bad thing better but it didn't seem to work out as well as we hoped.

Team Underoath is very sorry for all the inconveniences this is causing people who already bought flights and hotels or asked to get off from work. If anyone has ideas of how we can make this better this free to leave a note here and I'll be reading them.<

We're truly sorry to cause so many problems to the bands fans!

Randy, Underoath's manager

PS I just found two articles about other shows having the same problem there:

BRISBANE AND SYDNEY CHANGE OF VENUE!

STRICTLY LIMTED RELEASE OF TICKETS FOR BRISBANE!

Due to an unprecedented demand for tickets The Brisbane Underoath show slated for Thursday 2 October at the Arena has now moved to The Tivoli on Tuesday 30 September.

A strictly limited batch of tickets will be released at 9am on Thursday 25 September.

The Sydney show has now moved to Thursday 2 October.

All current tickets for the Roundhouse show on Tuesday 30 September remain valid for the Thursday 2 October show.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Renowned for their cathartic and frenzied live performances, Underoath have developed a fanatical worldwide fan base. The Florida-based sextet's inexplicably brilliant amalgam of mayhem and melody has propelled them to the forefront of the metal core scene. And it's that spirit that sets Underoath's fierce, foot-stomping metallic drive apart from its peers.

Their latest studio offering, Lost in the Sound of Seperation, cements Underoath's reputation "as one of the most punishing metal-core powerhouses around" – Revolver. The album is a mind-blowing song-cycle that is considered by fans and critics alike to be the band's masterpiece…so far.

To reward the fanaticism of their rabid Australian following, Underoath will be performing 3 shows only. With such a limited run in intimate venues the cult following the band brings about with their energetic belligerence is anything but unstoppable; and tickets will be at a premium.
