fangirl

1. An obsessive fan of a band, usually attracted to said band because she finds members of the band sexually attractive, and the music either comes as a second interest, or a non-interest. They have a strong tendency to rely on bands with appealing imagery (stylish pop punk, old glam rock, "hardcore" metal). Fangirls of more "loud" or "heavy" bands usually gravitate towards radio friendly ballads, and have little or no knowledge of the rest of the band's discography. For these reasons, fangirls are cast into the same derogatory category as poseurs by most music fans. Also can be spelled "fan girl".


You have problems. My Chemical Romance is not a band to obsess over. Yes, this band has done a lot for us and others - we're aware of that. But to obsess over them is ridiculous. To most of you, the musical talents of this band has become only the plus to their good-looks; not vise-versa. That's sad.
Really sad.
We started this fansite to get a word out. To get the word out that even though My Chem is an amazing band, you're destroying it by being obsessed. At the beginning, we sent out a message to every member, stating that the boys are sickened by your obsessions and ridiculous words you vomit concerning which members you'd like to "rape." We caused several members to open their eyes to this, and they changed for the better. That's all we wanted. If we could get at least 2% of the My Chemical Romance fanbase to change their way of viewing this band, we could be happy in knowing that we made a tiny difference.
But now, we can't keep up with it. We get friend requests everyday from people with default images of Gerard, Frank, or Mikey and their display names stating something along the lines of "Mrs. Gerard Way" or "Frank is soooo hawt." To us and them, that's bullshit.
If you haven't met the boys yet, and you're acting like this, good luck to having them even enjoy being around you if you ever do.
We had an amazing experience to hang out with the guys. We treated them like normal people and they loved us. But when girls yelled for Gerard or asked them to "marry them," they got annoyed. They enjoyed being around us because we didn't act like that. We treated them like normal people. How hard is that to do?
Change.
You're obsessed.
And it ruins it for everyone.

An Important Message.

Hello,

Well, we've gathered all you vampire minions for a reason. To make you respectable fans of My Chemical Romance.
MCR formed to make a difference in kids lives. They had a message that they wanted to get across. And they did that through the amazing music they have written and preformed for the last three years.
We've noticed many of you (and this may not apply to all) don't take MCR the way they intended. It's about the music. It shouldn't matter what the guys look like. They could be hideously deformed and physically disabled. But it shouldn't matter. They play extraordinary music that we believe we can relate to.
Gerard Way is not My Chemical Romance. He is the front man. The singer of a five person band. But he is not the whole band. He is an extremely, wonderfully talented man that plays a big role in the band. But I repeat, he is not the whole band. What would My Chemical Romance be without Ray Toro or Bob Bryar? Even Matt Pelissier, despite personal differences, helped form what MCR is today. You can't take a whole band and narrow it down to one person. Believe me, all the boys of My Chemical Romance are attractive. But even if they weren't, we would still listen to their music.
What we're trying to say is, please, listen to the music. Don't worry about what they look like. Don't obsess over their appearance. Worry about whether you like their music or not.
Secondly, My Chemical Romance is at the point where they can no longer have a conversation with their fans. Gerard has to hide himself and rarely come out, Frank has to run and be guarded by security, Mikey is scared easily and stays away from it all, Ray has to disguise himself, and Bob is barely noticed. Is this what you want from MCR? Do you ever want to meet them? Then we suggest you chill out, take a deep breath, stop saying you want to "rape them", admit to yourself that they are happily in relationships and will never be with you, and then maybe you can finally be respected and have a conversation with them. We, the vampires, had an unforgettable opportunity to have a casual conversation with Ray Toro. He was the nicest guy we have ever met. We talked about several different random things. He was completely down to earth but sadly, he had to hide himself so he could just talk to us without being interrupted by a crowd of uncontrollable teenagers. They're scared of these girls. And if you are one of them, this is why we're trying to help. We want you to be able to enjoy MCR the way we do. Where you can go to a show, listen to great music, and talk with the band.
So I hope you all take this into consideration. Listen to the music and respect them as talented musical artists. They are musicians, not models.

Q: Are you guys MCR? Do you know them personally?
A: No we are not and no we do not. And if you go to our site, it states that.

Q: Do you guys also run the UMCRS?
A: No we don't. A friend of ours does. We're just affiliates.

Q: Do you know if MCR has girlfriends?
A: Shut up.

Q: Can I use the banners on my page?
A: That's what they're there for.

Q: When is MCR comming to my town?

Q: Could some of my pictures of MCR be put up on the site?
A: Sure. If you'd like to donate photos for our gallery, you can either go to the boards and post them or send them to beforeugot2coolx@aol.com.

Q: Do the guys have Myspaces? Are they really theirs?
A: No. The only Myspace they have is the band's music Myspace. But they don't run that themselves. If you find anyone posing as any of the members, you're best to turn them in to Myspace for identity theft.

Q: Who is Gina?
A: Gina is a friend of Frank's, who we happen to talk with.

Q: How do you meet the guys?
A: Get to the show early, find the buses, hang out around the gate, be nice to security, ask if anyone needs help, and hope for the best. When the guys do come out, treat them like normal people. They'll like you better and want to stay and talk with you if you aren't screaming, "OH MY GOD!"

Q: Do you guys have some sort of "hook-ups"?
A: No, we don't actually. We're just like everyone else who goes to shows.
