All of my neighbors are crazy. Now, I know I'm not one to talk (I currently have an eyeliner moustache drawn on my face for no apparent reason), but I generally think of myself as purposfully odd...while these people are really just certifiably nuts. Here's the rundown;
The Vampire and the Succubus: The vampire is in his mid thirty's and looks like he is 70. His skin is yellow and I honestly believe he could die at any moment. He never leaves his house, except at night to buy beer (which I honestly believe to be a heroin chaser). The vampire lived alone until one day the succubus appeared. An eastern European woman who is clearly a call girl. I've never seen anyone wear odder outfits...think 1980's flashdance meets hooker. She leaves the house at odd hours, ie 2 45am (presumably for a 'job'), and can be seen arriving again the next day looking disheveled and in the same flashdance hooker clothing. I am afraid of these people. Very afraid.
Sister Christian: At first meeting, Sister Christian strikes you as a mid 40's hippie...or maybe even a gypsy. Wild hair and Peace and Love talk abound when you first meet her. But THEN...suddenly the Hippie talk melds with Jesus talk and the freak fest begins. One night she told me she thought that Jim Morrison could possibly be the devil...and that the Doors were very 'Satan Influenced'. The other night while we were out working on a project Sister Christian showed up and wouldn't leave. She stared at us and would suddenly burst into Loud, second long pieces of Patsy Cline songs. Eventually I saw her stumbling and realized she must have gotten into the devil juice. She was out there for probably 2 hours...just staring and spitting out random hippie/jesus jargon. Tim later told me she gave him the biggest anxiety attack he's had in a long time that night.
Atlantic City: The name explains it all. 80 years old, Gold running suits, Sequined clothing, and an attitude you wouldn't believe. This woman is constantly getting plastic surgery, and she isn't afraid to flaunt it. She'll prance around outside with bandages all over her face and then tell you what an asshole so and so is. Today when I saw her walking her always perfectly groomed Bichon Frise she said to me 'When you work in a pretzel factory you have horseshit, when you work in a shoe factory you have horseshit, and when you live here you have horseshit.' This so confused me that I concluded her words must either be completly profound or completly insane.
The Wig: Yet another 80 something year old that walks around with a RIDICULOUS red , curly, almost afro like wig, matching GIANT red sunglasses, a mu-mu and high heels. I've never even talked to her because she is constantly giving me dirty looks behing those giant glasses.
The KOOK: I actually feel bad for this guy as he really does have a brain injury. Apparenty he was working on a construction site and a pile of bricks fell on his head. He moved in with his brother who, shortly afterwards, died. Apparently the first thing the kook said was "I DIDN"T KILL HIM!". Hmmm. Then the kook decided to throw EVERYTHING in the house away..I mean EVERYTHING. If you looked in his window you would see a completly empty house. After than, he decided to trash the entire place with a sledgehammer...soon after the police arrived and held him at rifle point while attempting to arrest and escort him to the psych ward.
Richard Grieco: Richard Grieco lives with a mid 50's guy who is constantly passed out in his car with the radio blaring. The first time I saw him do this I honestly thought he was dead, but after seeing him passed out everyother day I've learned to ignore it. Anyhow, Richard Grieco looks like...well...Richard Grieco. Overly tanned, Overly processed hair and Richard Grieco clothing. He is constantly working on his odd 2007 pontiac...what he's doing to it, I have no idea...I think he just thinks hes working on it. A couple of days ago Tim saw him walking down the street with his face CAKED in coldcream...my guess it was self tanner
Keep in mind the fact that we live in a fairly nice neighborhood in Studio City...so there must be something in the water here. I think Tim and I are both considering moving...just to ensure we don't become full fledged kooks ourselves.
Because I have the good lfortune to actually have a summer vacation from work I've been lucky enough to spend my weekdays doing all those things that most everyone else does on the, making for much more pleasurable and much less crowded outings.
Today I decided to take a little hike in Runyon Cyn Park, starting from the Mullholland entrance (where the parking is much easier, and which is, of course, much closer to me than the Hollywood entrance). Anyhow, this was more of a 'get outside and relax' sort of hike than my usual fast paced 'go as far as you can' hikes, so I just took the fire road to the main lookout point, where the view of Los Angeles is absolutly incredible. More than anything I was in the mood to relax, so I took a seat on one of the two benches and alternated between people watching and merely staring out into the metropolis that is Los Angeles. After about 20 minutes of relaxation a little white pekingnese (Runyon is an off leash dog park...so take your puppy there when you have a chance!) ran up to me. I looked up to see the owner was none other than singer songwriter Ben Lee.
Just to make sure it was actually him I decided I needed to start a conversation in order to determine if he had an Australian Accent. I told him about my Pekingnese, Lester, whom I had brought to Runyon once before and who wanted nothing to do with the hike after 5 minutes. He did, indeed have an Australian accent, and we continued our Pekignese conversation for a few more minutes. He was a nice guy, and it truly was a random sighting.

It is a closed set, meaning, I can't be there...aka...I can't meet Jimmy Page. F*K! In the entire 4 years I've known Timmy I have never had any interest in going to work with him in order to meet/be in the same room with a specific actor/person. This is THE only time...and the only closed set he has worked on...as far as I know.
I am BUMMED...and jealous that Tim will meet him and I won't! 5. Have you still got the same style/colour hair? No. It was short...and I am trying to grow it out...but it's really, really hard.
