Hello solstice. Hello half empty glass. It's been a really great last 6 months.
January: - I abandoned the Internets for a week in an attempt to focus on school and some competitions, which didn't happen but worked out for the best anyhow. - Jennifer "the hotness" Chapton appeared on American idol and made a fool of herself. This unknowingly brings a community of people together to laugh at her stupid ass. I reconnected with so many people that month! - I find the perfect sketchbook, Cachet 8x11, 212 pages, made in England, widescreen format and perfect for two rows of my 2" tall ladies for maximum fashion!
February: - I don't get the gap internship. Not surprised. - Milo, our family pet of 15 years passes away. - Rather unexpectedly my godfather Larry Powers dies. - I realize we have 6 jars of peanut butter; all but one has been opened. - I make the mistake of buying the burning crusade expansion for Word of Warcraft.
March: - I become obsessed with day of the dead and fail to complete yet another competition. - I also become obsessed with matzo ball soup and almond flavored macaroons. - My first interview for my first internship. - Beefy comes to visit! And I join the Mediocre Tour for the California leg of the tour. - Jones and x-tine fiasco. - I plant my first seeds, poppies that is and a hollyhock.
April: - I join the IMBC and begin bloggin everyday. - The first annual junior review for CCA's fashion department. Not helpful, but I was highly praised so how was it bad? - I saw super bum. - I began reading for fun again. - I get conceptual with it and make garbage bag eveningwear. - My e-bay and other online spend gets out of control. - Matt gets accepted to UC Berkeley with full ride scholarship. - RATM gets back together.
May: - Class is over for the summer, and I finish all finals on time! - X-tine and I are officially not friends, and she still didn't return my copy of the Delta Venus. Grrr. - Hired by zafu.com for part time help, currently the most I have ever been paid at $14/hr. - Finally read a wrinkle in time, and it's sequel a wind in the door. - I get a new digital camera. - I fall in love with battlestar galactica. - I go to the Tri-Cities for a visit. - I get a car.
June: - Matt and I make the long 20-hour drive down the scenic 101 back to Oakland. - My poppies start blooming! - Introduce my family to Skype and video chat with them for the first time.

so i've been posting a blog nearly every day now, and will continue to do so until i don't any more. hehehe. but they arent here, and they arent on live journal they are on my beloved VOX.
here's my 2 favorite things about vox; 1.the url is www."myblogname".vox.com, not the other way around like on LJ and Myspace, making me more important. 2. it's preeeeetty and there are big shiny buttons that put cool stuff in your blog like album covers book covers and pics from your flicker or photobucket and vids from youtube. and you home page is pretty, so pretty that LJ had to steal it's formats and layouts so people wouldent leave, lol.
so, here is what i'm getting at, you should have a vox too, my little community is so small and im lazy and dont like having to go to the 3 other places i dont blog anymore just to link to my vox. guh.

i didnt get the internship and i feel two ways about it...
1. first i'm not suprised, our design program has it's curriculum pretty ass backwards and also doesnt emphasize industry standards, it's being sacrificed for artistic expression which is often half assed and impractical. i should have gone to otis.
2. second im pissed! im perfect for that place. i do illustrator.
also, milo our family cat passed away yesterday. je suis très triste.
it's also pouring rain and my new cool rainboots havent come in the mail yet.
to my online friends... i am abandoning all my instant messaging services untill further notice. im still going to be available on myspace and e-mail but untill i can manage my work and my time better, no more.

So the big news this week is Jennifer "the hotness" Chapton was on american idol and made a gigantic fool of herself. i have known this girl since the sixth grade, the sad part is that she hasn't changed a bit. i don't think i have laughed this hard in a very long time. to be honest, it made me feel good about myself. here is a video of miss hotMess herself....

i finally got some semblance of inspiration for spring for this old navy project. i think i'm going to call it mimosa. everything is really soft, diffused, muted, sweet, french, ballet inspired, 70's/80's. oh who knows!! it's due the 29th, wish me luck!

so.... my sister and I we're nearly killed by some guy who lost control of his SUV-ness and damn near killed himself. so i haven't been into the driving ever since. Christmas eve was really low key, my uncle's dad told me how useless my degree is going to be and how i might only be setting up tables for $7.50/hr or something. guh. christmas was awesome, getting to watch Julianna rip and tear was pretty funny and she really liked her animal train. i think she might have learned about inside the box and outside the box, very important concepts. my sweetie got me an overlock machine, my mom got me diamonds, my dad got me knitting machines my sister got me awesome earrings and radical socks and a sweet thermal; lol and jones got me "adult" playing cards! killer score.
the after x-mas sales were pretty rad, got some things i've been wanting, a contact case, mukluks, smaller earbuds for my ipod, a wireless router, 2 tops and 2 dresses, a new pair of jeans($10, down from $60!!), some awesome mario t's for matt. at some point i need to stop spending money. someone help me.
been hanging out with friends and spending quality time with the fam. i have a lot of work i need to start on, 2 papers and a suit jacket. im worried about going to bellingham for new years and not completing my work. i have been really stressed about school lately. i took 2 extensions last semester and this semester coming up is going to be a dreadful amount of work, and i mean dreadful in the most serious way possible. I don't know how i'm going to do it. i think fear of failure is legitimate when you're actually doing and trying. i'm going to need to concentrate harder and have more focus, i am seriously lacking focus; is there a pill for that?
How could i forget one of the first things i did when i got home? my first strip club experience! it was a lot of fun, i would definitely go again. being in a life drawing class has completely demystified the whole naked women thing for me. im totally desensitized, naked men however still catch me off guard. i went with beefy, i think he had a good time too. we realized that you get more attention from the strippers if you are a girl or are there with a girl. leticia from dolphin2, we loved you!
anyways, sorry i wrote a novel.

i learned how to hand felt today and it was wonderful! i made two bracelets a square and i now i want to make a little bag so much fun for just soap hot water and wool. my weaving is going well, but i have a lot to do before it's done, i'm doing blue tapestried waves, it looks really cool, i'm excited! i'm making a rad pair of pants this week to, should be done tomorrow, hopefully. pics and stuff later!

today sucked balls. i woke up and felt like shit. then richard and i spent 5 hours in the ER today. why do all my most obnoxious ailments come at the most inconvenient of times?? school starts tommorow, i had shit to do today, and peeing blood, spening 5 hours in a filthy oakland hospital wasting richards evening (richard is a huge sweet heart and a great friend), having everyone worry about me, and getting an IV stuck in the top of my hand were sooo not on my list of things to prepare for the begining of the semester. ugh. but i got a cool new braclet out of the deal, check it out!

San Francisco Fashion Week Aug 22-26 was awesome! it was really great to see lots of local talent, and lots of CCA alums among them. my future looks brighter already! this was an amazing learning experience, about everything, the way fashion shows work, like how much you have to pay to be in them! learning about sample size and quality was important, some people do sz 2-4 and some people make them size 6, and there is a difference between actual sizes and vanity sizes. lots of hot models, scary-skinny models, and some serious and undeniable truths about eating disorders in the industry. there is such a thing as too skinny. i learned of shoes called london soles and i must have a pair of these flats!!!! all the other dressers i worked with were really cool kids ljubica(ubitza), amy b., corrine, great girls and hopefully new friends! so much fun, i want to do it next year too!!
Date Night - Sunday Aug 27 matt and i went to berkeley and ate at king dong (lolz dong!) good cheap chinese food, then i bought myself some pretty scarf/textiles from this great little tibetian shop on shattuck, then we went to the book store and he bought me the latest in the series of Anita Blake, very excited to start reading that. We saw beerfest at the UA 7, better than club dread but not better than super troopers, some very quotable moments but a bit slow in the middle. then we were going to catch the bus home but i forgot that on sunday the 51 doesnt run all night so we had to scramble to the BART and catch the last train to rockridge and walk 2 miles home. i felt bad and my feet hurt, but we had such a good night, i'll try harder not to screw it up next time...
Major Purchase- Today Aug 29th today at a consignment shop i found a beautiful floor length satin dress it a remarkable shade of grey. it was $22, it fit me like a dream, i was almost sold, and then i saw the tag... it was Vera Wang, then i couldent leave the store without it. i may have a shopping problem... but it looks so good!!
so if you havent been reading my LJ then i wont tell you about how incredibly boring the last few weeks have been or how much time i have spent on a certain MMORPG.
but there is some new excitement!
i was selected to be a dresser for SF fashion week. after the interview i didnt think i was going to be chosen at all for any position, so to be selected and for the position i wanted is super happy. (ps- a dresser helps the models get dressed and undressed durring the show).
i think fisherspooner is playing at one of the after parties, that should be fun...
anywho, thats it for now, school starts in a few weeks, not looking forward to getting back into the grind but it's coming wheather i want it to or not. better buck up eh?

this is a new photo-collection i have been working on and feel that it should go untitled because that would be too contrived i mean they are already super goth as it is
and i went to muir woods and stinson beach with the ladies of the bay tiffany and christine...
lots of fun. while at the beach i wanted to see what it felt like to be washed ashore. so i just let the waves bring me in. a generally unpleasant experiance but it made for great amy the beached whale photos! otherwise i had a wonderful time being in my element, i think i may have been a sailor in a past life. also i want a tattoo of an anchor on my right upper arm a very simple line drawing almost stick figure esque like popeye only not on my forearm like his...
