I am a Political Scientist, its on my degree and I read enough social science and international literature to kill a horse to prove it but lately I don't understand it anymore.

First, the prez gets out the red state vote in swing states by putting up a gay marriage vote on election day and no one says a word about it, next american lawmakers care more about the wellbeing of a braindead individual days before her death rather than the overall health of the American Population, and next public safety, economic prosperity, and energy conservation is being ensured by turning the clock back and forth.

According to the AP: The House Energy and Commerce Committee agreed in a voice vote to move the start of daylight-saving time in the United States -- which occurs when clocks are turned forward by one hour -- one month earlier to the first Sunday in March. The end of daylight time would be moved back one month to the last Sunday in November.

Supporters of the amendment, sponsored by Michigan Republican Fred Upton, said it would save about 10,000 barrels of oil a day because offices and stores would be open while it was still light outside and therefore use less energy.

The move would also help businesses in downtown areas, supporters said. "There's more economic activity, because people feel they can walk around safely," said Democrat Edward Markey of Massachusetts.

WHY DOESN'T ED MARKEY ACTUALLY ATTEMPT TO IMPROVE THE ECONOMIC CONDITION OF THE POPULATION, MAKE THE STREETS SAFER BY PROTECTING THE PEOPLE, AND BECOME ENERGY EFFICIENT RATHER THAN TRYING TO SAVE 10K BARRELS OF OIL AND EXPECTING PEOPLE TO NOT COMMIT CRIME IN THE DAYLIGHT HOURS?
