What’s next on UltimArt

Hi everyone !

So, some people asked me "what's next on UltimArt" ?

A lot were like "can we have a Buffy Memories II ?"... the answer is.. not now.
We put a poll like.. everywhere on the web (you can find it right here : :http://pagesperso-orange.fr/buffynews/sondages.html) to know what's the next event YOU want.. but answer only if you intend to come, you know.

But before this next big event we are planing (it's a plan, means nothing's official here, don't jump on your seats) to make a Queer as Folk convention (and I would like a lot it to be with or The L Word or this amazing tv show called South of Nowhere).. it would be around may 2008.

Another thing : UltimArt is not only a making conventions type of association, so we're also beginning to make interviews, reporting and articles about every art and cultural things we have a crush on.
Lately we interview the amazing Jay Branan (for his Short Bus movie and the concert he was doing in Paris.. video interview'll be on january on our website), went on the Ken Loach last Premiere (for "It's a free world"), made a reporting of the Paris Jouet Expo (if you're a geek, love toys, Casimir, Star Wars and Lara Croft, this is the place.. David went there and said it was very cool, check on the video on our website!).........
So we're going to make a lot of other stuffs like that, because we love art and we really do want to promote the artists (singer, actors, directors, writers, photographers..) who touch us and also young or not-so-well-known artists !

Buffy Memories

Hey people,

Just thought I had to say some words about UltimArt Creation's last event !

It was called Buffy Memories, and was the first french Buffy convention here ! It took place in Paris, on november the 2, 3 and 4th. We received proudly the talented and lovely Juliet Landau (Drusilla) and the funny and adorable Georges Jeanty (the main drawer of Buffy S8 comic books) !

It was all very good, fans can tell, everyone seems to really enjoy the event, our guests was indredible and warmhearted with the fans, the fans were very nice and respectfull and, well, it's still hard to realize how cool all that was !

I'm afraid of... France.

C'est la première fois de ma vie que je pleure au résultat d'une éléction présidentielle.
C'est pas de la tristesse, c'est de la peur.
C'est la première fois que je sens une peur aussi physique au-dessus de ma tête.
J'aurais parlé, défendu, démontré, diffusé tout ce que je pouvais. J'aurais voté aussi, et pas seulement contre, parce qu'une partie de moi voulait y croire en cette dame là.
On aura fait ce qu'on a pu, et perdu.
J'entend des gens dire que c'est l'occasion de faire la révolution dans la rue, ils ont oublié la force de frappe des CRS ?
Est-ce qu'on peut lutter contre l'expression de la démocratie ? ah. Vous savez ce qu'on dit, la démocratie a tué Socrate.
Alors quoi ? Partir ? La tentation est forte.
C'est presque épidermique, je ne supporte pas d'avoir ce type pour président, de vivre dans sa France. Il va tout détruire, tout transformer. 5ans, putain, c'est tellement long.
Je ne suis qu'à moitié française, même si j'ai la nationalité, la naissance, tous les jolis papiers. Je ne me *sens* qu'à moitié française. Mon père était juif tunisien, avant d'immigrer ici, de devenir français, de s'attacher à gommer une bonne partie de sa vie qu'il avait été autre chose. Mon père avait 10ans à la fin de la seconde guerre mondiale, et je me sens comme les enfants de la seconde génération. Marquée par cette guerre, par la peur, par une certaine forme de culpabilité de l'être en vie, peut être.
Je me sens toujours dans le camp de ceux qu'on opprime, c'est dans mon sang et dans mon coeur. IL les menace. IL menace beaucoup de choses.

J'ignore s'il y a quelque chose à faire maintenant. Il faudra que je prenne du recul, que je me pose cette question. Je ne sais pas.
J'ai des choses auxquelles je crois, des causes que je défend. Des messages semés au vent pour des écrivains en qui je crois, l'association qu'on est entrain de former pour promouvoir l'art et la culture, pour porter nos idées. Il y a l'écriture, aussi, par laquelle on peut dire beaucoup.
Mais il est président. Elu. Par la france.
Je ne sais pas où on va, mais avancer va de plus en plus devenir comme un défit je crois.
J'avancerais quand même.
