summer vacation show & tell
Current mood: sweaty

hey everybody!
wow, it seems like forever since I last wrote. the summer will do that I guess, which a good thing (no one should spend 80 degree days in front of a computer). so maybe I should fill you in on our happenings?
Donehoo is the proud father of a baby boy named Liam. he has a onesie that says, "I'm big in Japan." it's pretty awesome. I wish they made onesies for adults, I'd wear one everyday.
Swerve moved down the street from me. he lives next door to a frozen custard shop called Scooter's. they make something called The Elvis, which is Vanilla Custard, Reese's Peanut Butter Cup & Bananas...it's probably the best thing you've ever tasted.
my hair is getting really long (more out of laziness than a fashion statement). I lost my iPod, which really stinks because I was having a lot of fun doing those podcasts for you guys. I've become obsessed with videos of people doing pranks on YouTube. I can only imagine the dumb shit I would've broadcasted if I had this YouTube thing when I was in high school. I especially love the penny prankster, have you seen this dude yet?
our latest record is all printed up and can be delivered to your door (CD Baby) or through cyberspace (iTunes). or you can buy it at one of our shows...we'll even take your pennies!
we're headed back on the road for some shows this week & this later this fall. here's what we've got booked for far...
wed. 9/3 - silvie's (chicago) thurs. 9/4 - iowa city yacht club (iowa city, IA) fri. 9/5 - box awesome (lincoln, NE) sat. 9/6 - the musette (omaha, NE) fri. 10/10 - elbow room (ypsilanti, MI) sat. 10/11 - mac's (lansing, MI) more show info here
well, that's about it for now. hope to hear from you soon!
who’s ready for some new music?!

our new record is finally finished & ready for your iPod!
the digital album is for sale at wallydogger.com for $10. you'll get a zip folder with the songs in the highest quality AAC format, along with mp3s and artwork. it'll be on iTunes, Rhapsody, eMusic, Napster, etc. in 6-8 weeks. Physical CDs will be available at our album release show on Saturday, August 23rd at the Bottom Lounge, and online for shipping shortly after.
thanks to everybody who listened to the podcasts. I'm gonna continue to post little things like that this summer...maybe I'll even do a live webcam show.
we can't wait to get back on the road & play for you. we're currently booking shows in September on our way to & from Omaha for the Mid American Music Festival (Sept. 3-7). if you live somewhere in midwest and know of a cool place to play, send us a mySpace message or e-mail wallydogger@gmail.com - we'd love to hear from you!

hey everybody!
sorry for the lack of updates. we've been really sporadic with computer use lately (which is pretty sad for dudes who claim to dominate information technology). we've been spending our summers writing music, travelling, and finishing the new record. i posted a new album teaser track on www.myspace.com/wallydogger. the whole record (w/ art) will be available online at wallydogger.com on Tuesday, July 22. physical copies will be available in August, hopefully at a our [pending] CD release show at Bottom Lounge on Saturday, August 23. iTunes & other online retailers will follow sometime in the Fall.
i feel too bogged down with music biz stuff to write much more, so send a message & tell us how your summer's been. mail to: wallydogger@gmail.com sends a message to everyone in the band. plenty o' updates & newz coming soon!
you love me, you really love me!
Current mood: grateful

holy shit! i'm absolutely blown away by the support you've shown us. the new record is almost mixed and we won't be going to jail or have our knees broken from a delinquent account. we're in the post-production phase now, where a dude with jedi ears masters the audio, a magical photographer makes us look less ugly, and our homie draws and paints a story for the linear notes. the whole thing should be finished this month. if you'd like an advance copy, it's not too late to donate at wallydogger.com - you'll be the first to hear it and you'll be as cool as the people below. without these fine folks, this album would not be possible:
Brent Rosati Adam Hunia Mike DiGiannantonio Michael Koscielski Erin Oberly Katy Kerrigan Kay & Peter Doerr Mike Doerr Andrea Steinhoff Hayley Kleyman Stephen Laszkiewicz Kerry Cahill Leah Diehl Thomas Kula
Let’s get down to brass tacks. How much for the ape?

So our fearless leader is on vacation this week. While Pauly is drinking tequila somewhere in Mexico and Swerve is filming an episode of Casa de Swerve, I figured it was a good time to take control of the blog for a moment. Mixing of the new album will be done next week. I stopped into wall to wall last night to find our recording guru Danny D tirelessly working away. We listened to a couple tracks together and I gotta say I'm excited - I can't wait for y'all to hear the finished product. Unfortunately our other wall to wall guru, Frank, was home recovering from a battle with a badger. What's this world coming to? Cougars in roscoe village and now a badger attacking a guy while he's riding his bike in the city? Crazy I tell you.
In other news, we are putting together some shows while the finishing touches are completed on the album. I'm particularly jacked up about going to Carbondale on Friday, June 13th. That's the town where I went to college - but more importantly it's the home of PK's...this joint serves Guinness and eggs on Sunday mornings at 7:00 AM. It's an amazing place. Bloody's at the cellar...man it will be fun. Hopefully we'll be able to book a few more weekends out before I go on baby watch. For those that don't know - which I would imagine are the majority - I'm gonna be a papa this summer. All very exciting...as long as the kid doesn't come out with long side burns - swerve did live with us for awhile. We'll be staying around Chicago from mid July to the end of August (hopefully have the CD release show during this time) and then it's back on the road. I'm guessing by spring of 09 Jr. will be ready to hit the road with us...the wife may have other thoughts on that though.
So all in all it's business as usual - anxiously awaiting the release of the new album so we can get on the road and start working on the next round of songs. Send us a message if you want us to come for a visit and play in your town. We're always looking at the map thinking "where should we go next?" Tell us you and a friend will be there and we'll be happy to book a show.
Thanks for reading, time for me to go hide behind the scenes again. Pauly will be back soon to update everyone with tales of Mexican pirates, boat drinks, and apes.
Carry on,
Donehoo

wally dogger: the man, not the band
Current mood: hungry

so I got an e-mail from a guy in Grand Rapids, Michigan named Tom Dogger. he said he was Googling himself and found our band. turns out, his dad's name was Wally Dogger...no joke! he's going to send me a pic of "Wally Dogger's drivers licence." too wild!
so we've raised $1250 for the new record so far. thanks SO much to the people that have donated, you have no idea how much it helps us out. recording expenses are going to be close to $4000. after that, we have to pay to get it "mastered" (dude makes it louder and better so it'll sound good on mySpace/radio), and then we have to pay to make CDs. SO... if you wanna get some great karma, visit www.wallydogger.com and click the donate button. if you donate even a dollar this week, i'll mail you a special mix CD: Bands that Inspired the New Wally Dogger album. I spend a lot of time making mixes and it includes a hand written note. if you like good music, you'll be really happy with your investment.
we played a fundraiser at the Town Hall Pub over the weekend, i posted a few new pics in our photo albums.
that's all for now, hope all is well in your world.
xoxoxo,
~pauly
p.s. i'm listening to the Thrills right now. i have no idea why mySpace got rid of that thing that lets me tell you what I'm jammin to...that was my favorite part of reading someone's blog
