My Funny Valentine Anthology
Category: Writing and Poetry
Hey Torrid Readers! So glad to finally be back on the radar! Hope you all are feeling completely romantic and ready for a wonderful Valentine's Day. If you aren't, then maybe reading my story, CURSES AND KISSES will help you realize that your love life isn't so horrible. Even if all is going well and Mr. Right is on the sofa next to you eating chips and watching some sort of sport, maybe you'll get a chuckle out of the MY FUNNY VALENTINE ANTHOLOGY! Here's a little blurb about my story: According to Madame Xavier, Maryanne Mills Valentine's days are cursed until she finds true love. Join Maryanne in her humorous almost romantic escapades and wrong turns on the path to happily ever after. Does that interest you? I hope it does. I have an excerpt up if you'd like a taste. Here's my website: http://harrischanning.bravehost.com/ I'm also hosting a contest this month so go on over and check it out: http://www.harrischanningcontests.bravehost.com/ In addition to this contest, my anthology pals and I are going to judge a "MY WORST DATE EVER" contest. To get the ball rolling, Kissa, Sherry and I have decided to share one of our crappy dates with you… Here's mine: "Are you sure you know how to find the place? It's a bit off the beaten track." "Hey, I've lived here all my life," he said. "I know how to get there. I'll pick you up at five. We'll eat some pizza and head to the dance." Dumbass was wrong. Living on one side of the county all your life does NOT make you an expert on the entire county. Now, on my couch, in my off-white prom gown, with my hair overly sprayed and my eyelashes looking like tangled spider's legs, I sat…waiting. It was after six p.m. My junior prom date was officially late. When you have to be in by midnight, it really sucks to miss out on even one dance, or one laugh. Brad (not his real name) finally showed up almost an hour late. "Sorry," he said, rushing through hellos with my parents. "I got lost." "Midnight," Dad reminded, crossing his arms over his barrel chest. Brad nods and whisks me out to his dusty blue sedan. "Crap," he says as he climbs in the car leaving me to get in all by myself. NOW don't get me wrong, I don't mind getting the door for myself 99% of the time. When I try my damnedest to look good and your BUTT is an hour late, you should get the door. Dammit, I wanted to be Cinderella… "Crap what?" I ask, narrowly missing slamming the skirt of my gown in the rusty door. "I forgot your flowers." "Oh." I wondered where they were. Now I knew. It was painfully obvious that I was not the most important thing on his mind that night. "That's all right." "Well, Mama wanted you to come by and meet her anyway. Do you mind if we run home and get the flowers?" I smelled a rat…I wondered if Mama said, "Brad, bring her here. If she wants them flowers, she'll come." So, forty-five minutes later, (remember I said he lived on one side of the county? I should have said the far side) we pull up the driveway. Mama comes out, camera in one hand, flowers in the other. Yep, it had been planned! Pictures taken, huge pink corsage strapped to my wrist and off we go… Now, this is priceless. I don't know what you all think of dipping snuff…but I think it's disgusting. My date however had the addiction and used his empty soda bottle to collect his spit. Well, he missed the tiny little opening but thankfully his tuxedo leg caught the drippings….did I mention he wore a pale gray tux? A lovely stain on the upper…and I mean upper pant leg is visible in the photos…dumb ass. Looked like his little soldier had sprung an amber leak. So, we eat pizza and with less than three hours of my time left, we arrive at the park where our dance is taking place. The line for photographs is out the door. But darn it, I wanted to remember this night…why? I don't rightly know! But as I'm standing there what happens? I know you all know…and I'd love to know if it's happened to you…my dress is on another girl's body! Yep, twins! UGH!!!! Pictures taken we dance…and I honestly don't remember much about that part. Wonder if he was a good dancer? He mustn't have been too bad or I would have remembered…but he mustn't have been too good or I would have remembered… What pops to mind next is the kiss goodnight. Poor Brad. He must have been part boy, part puppy dog. All tongue, swirling around like a fish trying to get back into the lake. And yeah, I know it was late…I was seventeen and this is my first real kiss. It's a wonder it wasn't my last. So, my sucky date story is nothing like what happens to Maryanne in CURSES AND KISSES but it's true…and it was my last date with Brad. Wonder what he's doing now? Wonder if I'm his suckiest date ever? I bet if he were to read this, I would go to the top of the list! Torrid Readers- Dare to Experience the Imagination of Kissa Starling (That's my new tagline how do you like it?) Oh, Harris, I'm sorry for you and your date! My portion of "My Funny Valentine" is a story called Love Angel. Maurice is the Gilligan of love angels and more clumsy than any of the other angels. Come along on his adventure to couple two humans living on either sides of the country- it will make you laugh, make you ahh, it might even make you sigh. My worst date ever involved a boy I asked out from high school who was an inexperienced kisser to say the least. He kept poking it on and out of my mouth. I tried to wrangle the slippery sucker but it was no use. I tried teaching him how to kiss, also no use. I raise my glass to all out there who have had a 'not so great' date. Let us drink! Kissa Starling www.kissastarling.com (coming soon) Drop by my yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kissaskarmakorner/join And keep up-to-date on my contests, releases, and life happenings. And last but not least…. Nancy Dugan is an older woman. In the past she's had some really good lovers, but since her husband passed away ten years ago, the pool of eligible bachelors had dried up completely. She's tired of dating old geezers who slobber on her shoulder when they dance and can't get it up in bed. When she's conned into a blind date, she can't imagine what this new man in town can be like. She's certain he can't hold a candle to her current lover, Mr. Dildo. Jon Valentine can't believe that he was foolish enough to accept a blind date with a woman who has been a widow for the past ten years. If she's been on the shelf that long she must be a dried up old prune in more ways than one. With a name like Valentine, he has certainly lived up to the myth around the day. In his youth, he was a great lover, but not as good as he became with his wife. Valentine's day always meant a night of erotic pleasures. Now, with her gone, it is just another night of the year. He can't imagine the old gal he's been set up with will be up for the activities he has in mind. As for Shari Dare, my dating was really limited. I guess you could call it one of those fairy tale stories. When I was 13 years old, I belonged to a teenage square dance group. The caller was putting together an exhibition square and paired me with a gangly teenager. At the time he said, you don't have to marry her, just dance with her. Five years later he reminded us of that at our wedding. Now almost 50 years since that first set up for the two of us, we're still going strong. MAKE READING FUN AGAIN www.derr-wille.com Well, there you have it, Torrid readers - the anthology authors have spoken, bad dates and all. Here is the chance to win one free download of My Funny Valentine…….post a comment here about your funniest, worst, or most unusual date. We will choose one winner next Friday night. That's February 8th at 6:00pm. (We can't wait to read your funnies!)

New Submission Guidelines for Whiskey Creek Press Torrid
Category: Writing and Poetry
WHISKEY CREEK PRESS LLC "Publishing Since March 2003" Submission Guidelines January 2008 ..>..>..>..> ..> | WHO IS WHISKEY CREEK PRESS, and what do we do? Whiskey Creek Press is a royalty-paying traditional publisher of fiction and non-fiction by outstanding, award-winning authors. We published our first titles in March, 2003 and we have grown to include a catalog of over 600 titles representing about 250 authors. We publish in ebook and traditional trade paperback formats, and maintain two retail websites, our all-genre General Line at www.whiskeycreekpress.com and our sensual erotic Torrid Romance Line at www.whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com. The majority of our titles are published in both ebook and trade paperback formats. Our ebooks are also available at third party resellers like Fictionwise, Mobipocket, and Amazon Kindle, and our trade paperbacks can be purchased at Amazon and through bookstores special order. The Whiskey Creek Press author contract is for a three (3) year period for worldwide ebook and trade paperback rights. Royalty payments to authors are quarterly based on industry commission standards. As a traditional publisher, Whiskey Creek Press charges NO fees of any kind to authors for publishing services. Editorial services, cover art design and production, paperback set-up fees, and ISBN numbers are provided at absolutely no fee to our contracted authors. HOW DO YOU SUBMIT YOUR WORK TO WHISKEY CREEK PRESS? Please provide us with the following three REQUIRED items as your submission package: 1) A COVER LETTER outlining your manuscript, any past publications and experiences as a writer. In the cover letter, include the word length of your manuscript as well as a brief synopsis, one to two pages in length. Please summarize the beginning, middle and end of the story. Show the conflict and resolution as well as character description. Also include a one-paragraph synopsis (thumbnail sketch or "blurb") of the story line and tell us what motivated you to write this story. Provide any past publishing history in detail, including books under contract with other publishers and titles out of print. 2) A BUSINESS PLAN, typically one page in length, detailing how you will promote and market your published manuscript, including any past marketing efforts for your writing career. Do you have a current author website? If so, include that, along with any other sites like MySpace, Yahoo, and so forth that you use to market your works. An active author website is mandatory for all WCP authors. 3) THE COMPLETED MANUSCRIPT itself. Do not send a few chapters. We want the manuscript completed before you submit to us. Do not mail the manuscript. To preserve the beautiful Cottonwood trees growing along the banks of Whiskey Creek, we ONLY accept submissions electronically.
AUTHORS OF EROTIC ROMANCE, WE WANT YOUR SUBMISSION! Erotic Romance…what is it? A work that is both romantic and sexually explicit. Erotic Romance is not pornography. This genre is romance—love in all its beauty, but without the flowery words to describe body parts and actions. Our Novella length fiction is 20,000 - 35,000 words. Novels in category length of over 35,000 to 80,000 words are preferred. We will also consider anthologies. For the sake of sensibilities, we request you NOT send manuscripts that depict human and earth animals in a bestiality setting. No necrophilia, pedophilia and bodily functions. We are not looking for manuscripts that degrade and demean any individual or group of individuals. Erotica without romance will not be accepted. At this time we're especially interested in seeing more submissions in: Science Fiction Erotic Romance Suspense/Thriller Erotic Romance Paranormal Erotic Romance Fantasy Erotic Romance We have three rating categories for our Torrid Romance: Sensual romance. The reader will find graphic terms for male and female anatomy. The love scenes are explicit, but overall the flavor to the story is more sensual. Erotic romance. Graphic terms are used and the reader will experience a heightened erotic experience. These stories may contain material that some readers find objectionable, such as light bondage, submission, forced seductions, etc., but the romance is primarily between one man and one woman. Erotica. The reader will find explicit sex scenes. Bi-Sexual/lesbian, bondage, sex toys, multiple partners may be included in this rating, as well as controversial story elements. But romance is still the underlying motivator. Please send your completed submission package to: subs@whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OUR CURRENT CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS Besides the general fiction genre submissions we have mentioned above, we are also calling for submissions for the following specific publications: EROTICA IS…TORRID RAW RAW is our line of 'simply' erotica stories. There are no-holds-barred when it comes to sex and love, in RAW. While these stories may contain romantic elements, what they should contain—besides a great plot—is sex in all its glory. Adventures in sex—and sexual relationships—is welcome! Push the limits with BDSM or multiple partners, in genres from contemporary to paranormal, urban fantasy or horror, suspense, Sci/Fi, or any combination. Happily ever after is not required, but a satisfactory resolution to the story is necessary. There are still some lines we will not cross, including incest, rape, bestiality (excluding shape-shifters!) or pedophilia. Also, please remember that our readers are primarily women who enjoy erotica, but not excessive violence or porn. All RAW heroes and heroines must be over 18 years old. Stories should be between 35,000 and 50,000 words. When you submit, please put RAW in your subject line and send your well-written, well-developed submissions to subs@whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NEW WCP TORRID HORROR ANTHOLOGY FOR 2008! – SUBMISSION GUIDELINES MONSTER MASH We're looking for spooky, spine-tingling horror short stories, to scare the bejeepers out of our readers, this Hallowe'en! If you're up for the challenge, write us one between 5,000 and 9,000 words and submit it to subs@whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com Deadline for submissions to Monster Mash is April 30th, 2008. All manuscripts will be reviewed after that date. Submit to: subs@whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TORRID TEASERS - SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Torrid Teasers is a duo of erotic short stories, by a single author, and is a series we have been publishing for several years. Please submit two stories at a time. We're looking for stories in any genre. Length: Each short story submitted should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words. Please don't submit anything for the Teasers outside those length guidelines. Torrid Teasers will be released in eBook format only. Submit to: subs@whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- TORRID TWISTED TALES - SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Was Sleeping Beauty's Prince really that charming? What if the Highwayman was a Highwaywoman? What did Snow White really do with seven men? Just how beastly was that Beast to Beauty? Welcome to the world of Torrid's take on traditional tales - with an erotic twist! We're looking for new, exciting and erotic ways to tell old, favorite tales. 25,000 to 60,000 words, preferred. Please, nothing less than 20,000 words. Do you have a favorite fairy or folk tale that would have turned out very differently if you had written it? Well, go ahead! Write it! Then send it to us. These books can cross genres. The 'main' genre is the fairy tale take off...but it can contain any other element that fits your story, and take place in any time period. The stories can be funny, angsty, dark, paranormal, historical, updated contemporary tales...the possibilities are endless. Whatever works for the story. It's completely up to the author. And if fairy tales are not your thing, we're always open to submissions in any erotic romance genre! Please submit a complete submissions package to: subs@whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CELTIC LOVE KNOTS - SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Wear the Celtic Love Knot close to your heart and let your passion rise to undreamed-of heights! Whiskey Creek Press Torrid introduces Celtic Love Knots, a line of erotic romance stories steeped in the mystery, magic and myth of all things Celtic. We're looking for erotic short stories on this theme, by a single author, to be combined into double volumes, similar to our Torrid Teasers line. Stories should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words each. Please submit two stories at a time. Contemporary, paranormal, historical, fantasy, even sci/fi, if it works, will be considered, as long as all submissions keep the Celtic motif in mind. Please double-check our guidelines for our heat ratings. Send your submissions package to: subs@whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Torrid Special Edition Line Submission Guidelines. We started adding the Special Edition "extra long" line of books in November 2006. These books are more mainstream than our regular Torrid Romances, with longer stories, intricate plot twists and grittier elements. The stories can be more controversial, the romance bumpier and the outcome less 'happily ever after'. However, please keep in mind that these are for the Torrid line. That means we'll still be looking for a sizzling hot romance, at least as a sub-plot! You can check out guidelines for our heat levels, above. Torrid Special Editions should be between 80,000 and 100,000 words long. Please send your submission package to subs@whiskeycreekprss.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 'Men of Alaska' Submission Guidelines. What is the appeal of those 'Alaskan Men'? Why does the term have such a mystique to it? Could it be because they're hot, sexy, lonely, and oh so ready for love…or maybe just some steamy lust? They say Alaskan men just won't commit, but maybe they just haven't found the right women! Whiskey Creek Press Torrid is looking for submissions for our new Series, Men of Alaska. Manuscripts should be between 30,000 and 60,000 words, and may be contemporary, historical...whatever fits your story. Please send your submission package to: subs@whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com Be sure to check our Heat Rating guidelines above. ADDITIONAL GENERAL SUBMISSION INFORMATION 1) WE DO NOT ACCEPT SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS. 2) RESPONSE TO SUBMISSIONS IS WITHIN APPROXIMATELY 120 DAYS. 3) WE DO NOT ACCEPT SUBMISSIONS IN MICROSOFT WORKS, MAC, OR WORD PERFECT FORMATS. WE DO NOT ACCEPT MAILED HARD-COPY SUBMISSIONS. 4) WE ARE CURRENTLY ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS IN ALL EROTIC FICTION GENRES. Tory Richards: It’s All in the Jeans
Current mood: excited
Category: Writing and Poetry
Hi, my name is Debbie Wallace, AKA Tory Richards. This is the last Monday in January and I'm happy to announce that in just a few short days my very first torrid with Whiskey Creek Press Torrid will be released. IT'S ALL IN THE JEANS will be published under the name Tory Richards. I've included a brief excerpt below. Visit Tory's website and sign the guest book on the contact me page. I'm giving away more than one autographed copy on the day of release! www.toryrichards.com Blurb- Logan Knight is staying with his grandfather while recuperating from an accident that killed his two best friends. He needs time to heal his body and his heart from the tragedy. Libby Turner is on a hell bent mission to keep her grandmother out of an assisted living facility, even if it means masquerading as a seventy-year-old woman.
From the moment the two meet sparks fly, and they can't keep their hands off each other. The only problem is, neither is looking for a relationship, so they come up with an outrageous solution. Can they stick to their plan of keeping their relationship strictly sexual, or do they give in to the overwhelming love that threatens to claim their hearts?
Excerpt- Libby swallowed nervously. If he rejected her now she'd leave the park and never return. However, what she saw on Logan's expression wasn't rejection. As he took his fill looking at her, she let her eyes roam down to the prominent bulge in his pants. My…it was a wonder it didn't burst right through his zipper! Without realizing what she was doing she reached forward and touched him to see if it was as hard as it appeared, sliding a naughty fingertip down the pulsing length. He was made of steel. And she couldn't wait to have him inside her.
He sucked in his breath, his penis jumping strongly beneath her finger. His heavy lidded gaze slid down Libby's exposed body in a slow, heated caress that made her heart pound and her pulse race. She felt her breasts swelling for attention, her nipples tingling almost painfully with excitement. Lord, it was a wonder she remained on her feet she was so turned on. And all they'd done was kiss so far.
What was Logan waiting for? Libby was all but asking him to make love to her. Didn't he recognize the signs? Surely he wasn't a virgin!
"Ah, Logan?" she questioned after a moment, curious as to why he hadn't made his move yet when she expected him to sweep her into his arms and ravish her. His eyes swung lazily up to hers, the question in them apparent. "Ah, you've been with a woman before, haven't you?" Her finger continued to toy with his erection. "Because if you haven't, I can show you what to do with this."
The crooked grin spreading slowly across his face was sexy as sin, and Libby felt the heat of embarrassment crawl up her neck and span across her cheeks when she realized her mistake. All at once the wolfish look in his eyes was backed up with a predatory gleam, and his intentions became very clear.
He was about to make a meal of her.

NOW AVAILABLE! Runner's Moon: Tiron, Book 2 of the Best Selling "Runner's Moon" Series! 5 Enchantments from Enchanting Reviews! "This is the story of two people searching for the unattainable ideal of love. So far it has passed them by. But a unplanned encounter and the opportunity is presented. Neither expected to find what they were looking for in the other. Added in to the confusion of love is the menacing shadow of a crazed killer stalking Tiron just as she thinks she has found heaven. Will she find hell on Earth instead? TIRON is the second book in the RUNNER'S MOON series. I really loved this story! The characters are so gentle and loving. The imagery Ms. Mooney writes is so descriptive and vivid that the characters come alive. It made me wish for an alien of my own. The ending brought tears to my eyes and a yearning for the next story. It is going to be torture waiting for the next installment. I really love this series and can not wait for the next book. I think that Ms. Mooney is a wonderful author and that her brand of romance will appeal to many different kinds of readers. Purchase your copy of TIRON today!" * * * Buy it today! Linda

Category: Writing and Poetry
Hey all, This is my day to blog and my topic is one that every woman should be aware of. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, a rape occurs every two and a half minutes. Seventy-three percent are done by a non-stranger, yet statistics say only forty-one percent are actually reported. Fear of reprisal or embarrassment, are thought to be the main reasons behind this. Educating the public about the truth behind rape, as well as providing counseling for those who are victimized, are ways to change these frightening statistics. My November release, Second Chances: Waiting in the Wings deals with what is popularly known as "DATE RAPE". While Callie and Jordon's case may have been fictional, there are so many stories that aren't. Women must be so careful these days, especially in a dating situation. And they must do what the can to protect themselves. Here are several ways help you make sure you aren't one of the statistics. - Avoid getting drunk at parties. Alcohol lessens inhibitions and decreases your facility for common sense, meaning you are more likely to do things you wouldn't do while sober. It's best to stay sober and aware, especially with people you barely know.
- Watch your drink at all times, even if it is soda. In fact, watch it being made. Keep it with you at all times, even in the bathroom. Date rape drugs like rohypnol ("roofies"), gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), and ketamine can easily be mixed into drinks when you are not looking. Such drugs can cause you to black out.
- Once you lose sight of your drink or put it down, then don't pick it up again. You don't know what happened to it while you were gone but someone who may or may not have been watching you and your drink would know.
- Avoid going into secluded areas with your date until you trust him/her. Go on double dates until you feel comfortable being alone with your boyfriend/girlfriend.
- Date people you know and have a history with, as in you know them or grew up with.
- Be clear on what you want from your relationship. If you don't know what you want, ask the person you're seeing to give you some time to figure things out. Don't play around, flirt, give them signs that you don't feel, etc. Do not let anyone pressure you into doing anything you do not feel is right.
- Avoid being alone with anyone who makes you uncomfortable. Your instincts will tell you which situations to remove yourself from.
- If you live alone, only use your first initial and your last name on your mailbox.
- Take a self-defense course for women and learn how to resist an assailant.
- Keep in mind that any date can turn into a date rape.
As one of my readers mentioned, this is a must read book for every woman, for themselves and their daughters. The only way we can break this horrible chain of violence is to educate and protect ourselves. To help with this, I will be donating 50 % of my author royalties from this book, to RAINN, Rape Abuse Incest National Network, one of the largest and most visible anti-sexual assault organizations in the country. It is my hope, that in this small way, I can make a difference. For more information about RAINN please go to http://www.rainn.org/. Now let's take a closer look at my November release. I hope you all enjoy the blurb and excerpt... Blessings to all! * * * Blue Ribbon Favorite Award and 5 Blue Ribbons of Romance Junkies - Reviewed by Amanda SECOND CHANCES: WAITING IN THE WINGS is a poignant, emotional and even sometimes harsh look at the world involving rape and the drugs that help enable this abominable behavior in people. Two innocent lives are forever changed and there's no going back to right the wrongs in this incredibly moving tale. I've read a lot of stories in my time of reviewing that have to do with rape, most of them harsh and cruel. I can honestly say that CJ England has interwoven both the cruelty and the brutality of rape with a hint of romance. I curtsy to you, Ms. England, for a supreme job on this subject matter and for everything you are attempting to do to draw attention to this matter. * * * Recommended Read and 5 Klovers from CK2S Kwips and Kritiques – Reviewed by Anne Only CJ England could write this story. "What?" "You heard me, dance with me. It's one of ours. Since I can't take you to the bus, I'll pretend I'm playing for you here and I'll get to put my arms around you." When Callie just stared at him, he put a mocking smile on his face. "All these people means you're perfectly safe. Come on honey. Don't be a coward." "I'm not afraid," Callie said automatically as she got to her feet. With a grin of triumph, Jordon took her hand and led her out to the dance floor. Pulling her against him, he almost groaned aloud at the feel of her soft body against his.</span> Callie moved on auto pilot as Jordon's arms slid around hers. He held her tightly against him, so that she could feel every line of his strong body next to hers. He slid his hand down to the small of her back and pressed her towards him. She gulped once, as he moved slowly against her and she could feel the hard line of his erection against her belly. For the first time in her life, she wondered what it would be like to allow a man to touch her the way her body was screaming for. He felt so right. If only he wasn't who he was. She closed her eyes. Why couldn't she feel this way about someone who would be a part of her life tomorrow … and the next day. Why did it have to be someone like … "Jordon," she whispered, beginning to tremble. Jordon held his breath. He felt Callie trembling against him and it took everything he had not to sweep her up and take her out to the bus. The fact that they had gotten to each other so fast made him shake his head in wonder. Damn, if Callie wasn't so stubborn, they could be making love right now, not torturing each other. He wanted to be in her, feeling her arms around him as he drove into her. She would feel perfect. He knew it. "Girl, you are something," he said shakily, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. Closing his own eyes, he just held her, knowing that unless she changed her mind, this was as close as he would get to her. Brandon watched them from the shadows. The little bitch was asking for it, pressing herself against Jordon like that. Jordon probably had a hard on like a steel pipe the way she was rubbing against him. Cock tease. They were all the same. Playing hard to get and then walking away. His boy didn't deserve that. He narrowed his eyes. He was Jordon's manager, and it was his job to make sure that he stayed happy. If Jordon wasn't happy, then the tour could go down the tubes, and that couldn't happen. And if he was able to get back at the slut for the comments she'd made, well that was just gravy. No one noticed when Brandon slipped out the door and then back in a few minutes later. No one noticed when he sidled up to the table and poured a few drops of liquid into Callie's beer. "Take that, bitch. You're his now." Brandon smiled, as he sauntered back into the shadows. When the music stopped, it took Jordon a few seconds to pull away from Callie. He didn't want to let her go. The bulge in his pants testified to that and he knew she was as aware of that as he was. Finally he stepped back, raising her face so he could look at her. "You okay?" he asked, clearing his throat shakily. "I don't know," Callie answered her eyes as otherworldly as they had been when she talked about her dreams. She blushed and tried to turn her head away, but Jordon wouldn't let her. "Oh, no you don't," he exclaimed. "Truth … remember?" "I can't look at you," she muttered softly, her eyes skittering around, not knowing where to look. Jordon put his arm around her and led her back to the table. "Here have a drink," he said, pressing the cold beer into her hands. Callie drank thirstily, but still wouldn't meet his eyes. Okay, he thought, the matter of fact approach. "So, you know you give me a hard on. It's not the first time." Callie choked on her beer. Her eyes flew up to meet his, widening at the humor she saw on his face. "Don't talk about it. It's … it's …" "Hard … to do?" Jordon asked innocently. He frowned in apparent concern as Callie choked again. "Embarrassing," she wheezed, finally getting her breath. "For you or for me?" Jordon wanted to know. Callie threw up her hands. "You're impossible!" She took another cautious sip of beer to soothe her raw throat. "No, I'm just horny." Jordon grinned at her unrepentantly. "Look, you are a beautiful woman who I'm damn attracted to. If I didn't get a hard on, I'd be worried." "Not so loud…" she hissed, looking around carefully. "Someone might hear." "So I guess writing a song about this is out … huh?" Callie laughed, her head swimming a little. He was so attractive and his slightly crooked smile was very sexy. If only … "No hard on songs, promise?" Jordon laughed; delighted that she was comfortable enough to joke about it now. "I promise. No hard on songs for you." He reached over and cupped her face in one hand, his eyes darkening a little. "Your song would be different … sweeter. Definitely erotic though." Face heating, Callie took another gulp of beer. "You do like to embarrass me, don't you?" "No baby," Jordon murmured. "I'd like to do something else entirely to you." Callie looked up at him mutely. His face seemed very far away, even though she knew he was sitting right in front of her. She shook her head to clear it. "Jordon?" Jordon stared at her, his breathing quickening. Her eyes were different. Soft and dreamy now, he could see something in them he hadn't seen before. Was it desire? Christ, he hoped it was, because he was about ready to explode. He reached for his beer, to cool off, but he had downed it like a man dying of thirst, when they had gotten back to the table. He grabbed Callie's. "Can I have this?" Callie nodded slowly, never taking her eyes off him. Jordon tossed the rest of her beer down, frowning that there was only a couple inches left in the bottle. Another slow song began to play. Quickly Jordon pulled Callie into his arms where she swayed against him. He held her tightly against him, praying that she would stay in the mood. "Honey," he murmured, as he kissed her soft ear. "You make me burn." His body tightened in a glorious rush as she moaned softly in his ear. He felt her lips press against his throat. "Oh, God," was all he could say. Fighting for control, he moved in a circle, holding her against him. Callie felt … odd. First, seeing Jordon like he was very far away. Then, the feeling had changed and her limbs had grown heavy. Now, for the life of her she couldn't make herself say anything. Jordon pulled her up and begin to dance with her again. The feeling of his body was just as wonderful as it had been before, but she couldn't respond. When he spoke to her, soft sexy things, she wanted to say something back, but all she could do was moan. She felt like she was drunk, her body out of her control, but she knew better. Her mind was woozy, but she knew she had only had two beers. She shouldn't be feeling this way. What was going on? Callie began to get frightened, but nothing she felt was making itself known in her body. She wanted to ask Jordon for help, but she couldn't talk, couldn't move, her body as unresponsive to her minds directive as if she was a corpse. Jordon wondered just how much more of this he could take. Callie draped around him like a vine, her lips pressing against his throat, his chest, wherever they happened to land. The change in her was making him light headed, his own limbs sluggish as he held her. Would she come to the bus with him now? He shook his head. She wasn't a tease. If she was responding this way, she must have changed her mind. Fiercely aroused, Jordon pulled back and took Callie's face in his hands. "I want you," he said baldly, watching her slumberous eyes as he spoke. He thought he saw them darken before they closed and her head tipped back. "Oh, baby," he said roughly, before slanting his mouth over hers. Callie was almost senseless when Jordon kissed her. What he had taken for permission, was in fact a last flutter of consciousness. But when his lip touched hers, searing them with the heat of his passion, Callie struggled back through the layers of thick clouds that surrounded her. She knew he was kissing her. In fact a part of her, a very distant part was enjoying it. She wished for just a moment that that part of her was closer, so she would know what being kissed by Jordon was like. What she was … was frightened. Something was very wrong and there was nothing she could do to stop it. Surely, someone could tell that she was in trouble. Jordon must be able to. But he continued to kiss her, muttering dark, sexy words that barely made sense to her. Jordon released Callie, taking in huge gulps of air. "God almighty," he breathed. "That nearly got out of hand." He took no notice of the people watching curiously or of the big man in the corner ready to jump him if Callie even squeaked in outrage. He didn't see Brandon, snickering as he nursed his own drink. All he saw were Callie's kiss swollen lips. All he felt was the pounding of her heart and the throbbing of his own body. "Come out to my bus with me Callie," he touched her face gently as he spoke. "I'll make it good for you, I swear." When he released Callie's face, her head fell forward and then back in a sharp nod. He was so surprised, he almost dropped her, but the heat in his blood took over. "You won't be sorry, baby," he said pressing swift kisses all over her face. "I promise you. This will be a night you'll never forget."
