Creem Magazine CD Review August 2006
White Demons Say Go Sonic Swirl
Finishing the rough draft of the album they released in their hometown of Phoenix last year, the White Demons pull out all the stops for this national release from the city that brought you the wretched Rock and Roll Hall of Fame which shuts out most of the pile driving bands that influenced the WD's. They've got the snarl of Alice Cooper, the impatience of the MC5, the proud laziness of Dictators, and the broad gesture stadium awareness of KISS, it's all here in snotty abundance. Singer Nick K (whose nom de plume and sculpted rooster mane could be a living museum to legendary NME punk scribe Nick Kent) doesn't let more than a few lines go by without spitting out something hilarious ("You like the way I underachieve") or borderline profound ("I got the luxury of a halo but I treat it like a stain") or just plain stooooopid ("Say you're gonna see me blowing that screen three times /I said three times!") Plus they pose the best disillusioned musical question of 2006 "When did the DJ become the band?" -- Serene Dominic - Creem Magazine August 2006

Sleazegrinder Magazine Review
|
I hear they got these diamond mines out in the Arizona deserts, and anyone with an affinity for searing heat and sheer greed can really make a name for themselves. It's down n' dirty work, but the pay off is worth it if you can hack the lyin', cheatin', pistol-packin' way of life. Now, I'm not saying that this is how the White Demons really came to be, but their in-the-rough, trailblazin', AC/DC riffage meets MC5 motor madness lends itself perfectly to the idea that they stumbled upon some Faustian oasis one hot n' hazy day and sold their souls for one big ass shiny shot at it all. The devil needs a few outlaws on his side, my friends, and now the White Demons are right there along side such malevolent entities as, say, the Murder City Devils and R'hoades Diablo, complete with eight tequila-soaked songs that sound like vultures feasting and rattlesnakes shaking. An electric storm of rock n' roll, this one. Signed, sealed, and delivered.*

White Demons Guitar World Magazine October 2005
http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=9126417&imageID=181236466&Mytoken=20050807150047 From the "Introducing" column of Guitar World magazine October 2005. Click on the link above to view the image. White Demons Album: White Demons The Sound: AC/DC meets old-school punk History: The Phoenix based-band has been together for a decade under various names. They were long called the Kranks, after guitarist Tony "Krank" Dow, but changed their name after his Krank amp company took off. "We wanted to keep the band separate from the company," Krank explains. Talkbox: "I couldn't buy the tone I wanted so I started to build my own amps," says Krank. "The next thing I knew I had Krank Amps. But being a guitarist in this band was always my first priority."

White Demons CD review Phoenix New Times
Check out the latest cd review in the Phoenix New Times...
Now we turn over the proceedings to the White Demons -- not the ones who control the media, but the ones who hail from Phoenix and play great pile-driving Motor City rock like it's second nature. Other reasons to be cheerful: They got a drummer named Vern and a singer/guitarist, Nick K. , who plays some forceful slide and yelps like either Chip Z'Nuff or a strangled Merrill Osmond (no slam intended; check out the Provo bros' "Crazy Horses" and be prepared for the irrefutable shock and awe). If that isn't reason enough to wanna check out four leather-jacketed youths, consider that they've got the apathy-anthem department all sewn up with "Say Go" ("Well I guess I'm here to entertain you/Well I guess you're right/And you can just sit and stare, man/This culture's in a rut . . ."). Like most great rock 'n' roll, White Demons have come up with a bumper crop of throwaway statements that sound deep but really are just unaffected ("Eight chairs in your living room and I don't need a mouth to feed," "I've got eyes dripping down my sleeve/You like the way I underachieve," "If you ran my smear campaign, would you turn around and do it again?") Being nonplussed was never such a welcome addition. Check out the White Demons CD release party on August 9 at Gimme Danger at Hollywood Alley in Mesa. (www.whitedemons.com)

White Demons on Vodka Tonic Radio
"The White Demons are the two fat white balls that The Darkness lost somewhere between their garage days and rockstardom, and the ones The Strokes never were able to claim in the first place. These action rockers are pure heart and soul matched with big beat and bent strings". Vil Vodka- VODKA TONIC MEDIA

White Demons CD review in SugarBuzz Magazine!
White Demons
CD Review
By Lucky (SugarBuzz Hollywood Badboy)
SugarBuzz Magazine Rock is about the only thing keeping me alive and White Demons are saving my soul. This rock quartet is exploding out of Arizona at a fast and furious pace. This CD is just what the doctor ordered.
8 tracks of pure adulterated glam, trash, and sleaze rock and roll pumping energy through every vein.
“Spit On My Liver” is a testing the limits and damn the torpedoes venture into rock and roll debauchery. Reminiscent of Faster Pussycat in their heyday, this song also has other similarities to glam bands of past and present. Sizzling lead guitar and catchy groove make this a sure fire hit.
“Cancelled Show,” say it ain’t so! Tasty little rock nugget for your listening pleasure. Nick K’s vocal are just pure rock. The guitar sound is right out of a rock “how to” sound manual.
Sounding like fuzz Whitesnake Stooges bucket the intro guitar starts setting the tone for this cranking offering entitled “Drop Down”. Early punk attitude backed by modern day penetration. Right in the pocket, you know what I mean Vern?
“Say Go” is yet another destined for the big time classic. Ramones like yells of “Say Go” without the gum-like residue. A really great break is featured leading to a climatic back to home. Kick ass all the way!
“3 Times” is a pistols guns delight. Smack dap drop-dead right on! Say that 3 times! Love it! What a great riff.
“Tear It Up” is a saucy killer that will have you chanting the mantra. Definitely a drinking good time piece of work. Boomy chorus will have the crowd going crazy. Let’s Go! Big fat guitars.
A “Pill” that is not tough to swallow is given in heaping helpings of scorching guitar and raunchy delivery. A sure fired crowd pleaser.
“It’s All About The Rock” sums up the CD in a nice upbeat manner. We here at The Shug couldn’t agree more; it is all about the rock!
Hit the band up at www.whitedemons.com.
