It just so happens that first of all, nearly the entirety of the world's Jewish population lives in developed Western countries, where supposed standards of living are higher, simply as a function of the more developed economic systems in these countries. Education is more readily available, as the inhabitants of these countries don't have as their primary concern where their food is coming from today. There is no single country, outside of Israel, operated by any amount of Jewish religious leadership. Muslim fundamentalist leadership is the developing Eastern world is far more interested in keeping power than educating its populace. It seems to be operating on a premise of religious control not seen in the West since the reign of the Catholic Church during the Middle Ages. Remember also, that until recently, the West has had some measure of control over the Middle East during the 20th century, if maybe only economically.
