8:23 PM - Big news for The Sims 2!

And here I thought "Free Time" was the last expansion pack... At least, that's what everyone was saying. Not true! Apparently there's going to be an "Apartment Life" expansion pack coming out this fall. I hate waiting. X_X

I already build apartments pretty frequently for my Sims. I'll usually focus on one person, while the others run rampant, but I really do enjoy cooping different Sims or their families into their respective corners. XD The only issue that comes up is funding; some Sims work, while the others all reap the benefit. Well, when you're doing a huge project like apartment complex building, you kinda have to cheat for simoleans, so that's what ends up happening. ^^; It would be really awesome if each family had its own funds kept separately. I wonder if that's what will happen? Can they really pull it off?

The Free Time expansion pack is pretty cool, though it could have been a lot better. I like that Sims can now have additional perks, just for having certain personality traits (aspirations), but the aspiration meter looks like a saggy carrot now. It's pretty weird and annoying... I do really enjoy having a secondary lifetime aspiration, though! It's fabulous, and makes good sense.

Hopefully the apartment pack will come with some new careers. I like the private investigator one that they added with Free Time, but there are some more commong careers that should be considered. I mean, your Sim can go to college for psychology, but can't actually work as a psychologist. That kind of sucks.

You know what I really miss? The celebrity pack from the original Sims games. Makin' Magic was really, really awesome (most especially the little carnival cities), but I'm really into celebrities, so I'd like to see that brought back in Sims 2 (though I suppose it's too late to say so now, eh?). It was kind of cool to have your Sims visited by paparazzi and stalked by obsessive fans. XD

Ah, well. As long as there's more coming, I won't complain. I was disappointed and really afraid Free Time was the end, and I had expected a bit more of a bang. Now I'm just going to be excited and impatient for the next few months instead!
