Haikus For My People
Current mood: electric
Category: Blogging
My bandmate with dumhi (www.myspace.com/dumhi) and good friend Shameless Plug is a fan of haikus. I used to write a ton of them as a kid. I don't profess to be any manner of poet but I try to challenge and temper the poetic side of me -- I do rhyme, after all.
Here goes:
1
Remain Ever Full Of Love, Peace and Compassion It Is Our Birthright
2
She Does Not Matter Although You Would Think She Would Praise Finality
3
Children Play With Ghosts Because They Can Still See Them Such A Perfect Gift
I have a lot more...just writing a bunch out. I'm going to actually try and attempt to get deep on ya'll one day. But I'm loving the growth.
Peace!

Black Women: I Love You
Current mood: amorous
Peace, On a quick walk from 11th and G Street NW to Gallery Place, I fell in love/lust/like about 25 times. I may have seen 20 of some of the most beautiful black women ever in that short and brisk 15-minute (tops) walk. And they all spoke (because a brother look sharp and my curls is poppin' as my sister would say!). I mean if speaking is an indication of interest in this city (and it usually is), I had a lot of folk interested. Man if I had time, I would've stayed still and got my rap on, see if I still got it (and I do as evidenced by this morning on the Blue line to Franconia). Tall women...I adore you. I'm 6'1 and if I gotta look up, I'm even more interested. Short women...as a big strong man, ain't nothin' like cuddling ya'll up. Thick...nuff said. Thin...ain't nothin' wrong with it. Dark...yum. Brown...honey dip! Light...I can get with it. Natural, permed, individual braids, wet n' wavy, sista locs, etc....ALL of you are beautiful to me today. Could be that summer heat in my pores but really? I love you all.

Mambo Sauce (The Go-Go Band)
Current mood: Siced
Category: Siced Music
Peace,
I don't really have a lot of time to blog it up regarding the amazing display of showmanship exhibited by the go-go band Mambo Sauce this past Saturday at Art-O-Matic. To rock a mixed crowd full of rowdy kids and be ENTERTAINING without comprimising your core sound is a gift. I love gogo music more than anyone could know although I personally have little vocation in the artform. And then too, I'm a fan of the older bands who's heydays are definitely long gone. I'm ready to give the crown to Mambo Sauce without question. Thank you, guys, for an awesome show at Art-O-Matic.

Just Something I Wanted To Share Today
Current mood: grateful
Category: Blogging
Peace,
As I'm walking toward my building, a homeless man I always happen to run into stopped me and asked his usual. I told him, like I always do, that I will not give him money because I know he's an addict. However, we can go into any place in the city he wants and I will buy him 3 full meals. No change, no money, no exceptions.
He finally said to me "you know, you're the only one out here fighting for me. people just give me change to shut me up or they're scared i'll touch them. you don't seem scared of me or anything."
I told him that he's got so many people out here that can help him. The shelters and centers are all within walking distance. He knows that...and I know that he does because he goes there for the mid-day lunch and showers. So, he thanked me in leaving...still trying to find his "fix". But I hope that, if anything, I gave me some incentive to try to find a better way.
Peace

Awakening
Current mood: content
Category: Blogging
Light conversation turns into phones calls turns into emails turns into...
"hey, let's meet for lunch or dinner. my treat".
And so the dance begins of coy glances, sweet smiles and a feeling of openess.
That feels amazing, and it feels right and it feels...on time.
Perhaps time is all it takes indeed.
(I was going to make a poem about it but I think eventually, I'll make a short story about it. It's definitely worthy of either treatment.)

Anger
Category: Writing and Poetry
We pretend to not notice the other. Unspoken tension fills the air. Indifference becomes greeting. Annoyance becomes salutations.
We erect large barriers between us. Knowing fully that it matters little. The place we dwell now is emotionless void. Brief hellos, weaker hugs, they tell the story.
It has died and become reborn as pain. As hurt. As anger. As love lost.
I am not too proud to admit that I am lost in my own.....

Love your mothers. Do good work. Love people in spite of themselves and/or the circumstances. Never hold grudges. Support from afar or close by. Offer your best, in spite of what may come. Eat hearty and appreciate the gift of satisfaction. Give warmth in your greetings. Learn to love the self. Never let the past dictate limits upon your future. Look at every possibility with openness. Never let hurt close you down to love. Be full of good character. Be honest. Be you. Be free.

The Streets Need This Right Now
Current mood: enlightened
Category: Blogging
*swiped from a post I did on the world's best message board*
1. Shitting is not a sin. I know my nigga PrimateTestes was going kinda hard on his young buckethead for wolf-turdin' on his porcelain potty, but everyone doo-doos. Everyone. See back when I was a young nigga, which is a long time ago, I used to not think womens would shat. Like I never saw my momma shat or my sisters or none of my aunties and grandmothers. Them niggas just did not shit for nothing. But all my male members got busy on that bowl, god. I mean them niggas would shut it down. My skinny ass little brother used to fuck the whole top floor up. But I'm saying...why is shitting so demonized? Like for real...FOH. If I gotta shit, I'm going to shits. I mean in GorillaSacz's case, I mean she kinda set herself up for her shitty ways. But still, we shouldn't clown her for doin' what she had to had did. I mean yo, even fine people shits. Like can you imagine Beyonce cold sweatin' bullets on the "Thinker's Throne" cold droppin' brown bombs of bulky joy all in that bitch? Yes, nigga...she shits too. Shitting is not a sin.
2. Jerking off at work. I know some of you motherfuckers have done it and so unless you got a low traffice bathroom, that shit's not peace. It's a couple of women on this here forum that have posted in the past they cold hit off a hee-hee in the powder room and went back to work panty shielded up and all. That's nasty. I mean not really...it's cool, but damn, what about that coont leakage? Don't that feel uncomfortable? Like for men, when we busoff and we thinks we done squoze all the nut out, it's still a trickle of man batter that hangs around like an errant snot line out of a little kid's nose in the winter. That shit's wack. Anyway...that's all I got on that.
3. I don't care how old, established, intelligent or whatever a dude is....fart, dick, ass and shit jokes are ALWAYS funny. Always. It's never an occassion when it's not funny unless you're just impossibly stuffy and even then, nigga, you'll still chuckle like Mitt Romney and shit.
4. So bust it....today's breakfast is a double helping of oatmeal, two little cups of applesauce and a grain bar and a big ass glass of water. That's right, niggas...your boy DirtyMash needs to clean his pipes, no homo. I ain't shatted good in a couple days and I feel fucked up out this jount. But I bet after this, I'm finna shit a demon out.
5. Oatmeal is an inferior breakfast cereal. Who in the fuck willfully wants and enjoys oatmeal? Grits, now that's good eating. Cream of wheat? WTF?!? Ew. Farina is slave food. What else is there? I'm not up on my cereals like that, famz.
6. Why in 2008 is black women still afraid to get some bussoff on them? I mean nigga it wipes off so why you all ewwin' and shit? Damn.
7. Fellas...you ever be curlt up on your woman and she fahts on you? Yeah, me too. But it's cool because I be playing get back like a motherfucker and since I got a high ass, she gets the funk officially. Like that green cloud wafts high up on her, you dig me? It's fucked up, but that's warfare for you.
8. Do niggas in NYC still wear them big ass wide stiff brim hats looking like all kinds of bammas? And do niggas still carry boomboxes up that jount on the train? I swear to you last year early in the summer, I seent some spanish niggas on the 2 train with boxes, young. The fuck!?!? This ain't beat street, Antonio!
9. Young...you ever openly dated a stone cold bamma? I'm talking gear wise and socially....like a nigga who used to get they lunch money took? I have. But I was forgiven because YOUNGIN WAS PHAT AS SHIT and the hood respects that. This isn't to say I too wasn't once a bamma. We all was...don't make me pull out that post, niggas.
10. The most fugazi thing I seen a bamma in the hood do was give another nigga a "gun" off the end of a blunt. Nigga...you may as well been sippin' a root beer float with that nigga usin' one straw and shit. FOH.
For number 10, niggas and germs, I am not a homophobe. So don't be assaulting my ass with rainbow colored darts and shit, niggas. We cool.
PEACE and thanks for reading.
