Merry Christmas to All
Current mood: accomplished
Wow!! I really don't show up here very often do I? Since my last posty Tammy decided not to sell her house but we, on the other hand, did. Well -- it hasn't sold yet but hopefully will very soon. Jim started back with Weatherford in August and they asked us to move to Colorado. We finished the move in mid-october and I am loving it here. We're on the western slope and the climate is reminiscent of the Okanagan.
Dallas is still in Baghdad, Trevcor in Fort St John and Tammy, Chad and the girls in Ontario. I just popped in to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season.

My daughter is selling her house
Current mood: accomplished
Whew! Popped in to blog this and had tons of messages and comments to read through. Thanks a bunch to everyone and a real big thank you for all the birthday greetings -- and YES! it was great. Hubby actually was on a job but he showed up the next day and made up for it.
Anyhoooo -- Chad and Tammy are selling the house in St Marys Ontario. I made them a website and I am blogging it all over the place for them. Dallas is still in Baghdad but I hear from him often (its when I don't that I worry) and I hear very little from Trevor but there's a boom on in FSJ and he's been pretty busy. Jim and I have been on vacation in southeastern Colorado and northeastern New Mexico and its been great. It was a shock after a week of high in the mid 70s to get home to highs in the low 100s. My garden flourished during the week we were gone -- I did it -- I have brought life to the desert.
I'm still really busy with Blue Star Mothers and we did care packaging, the window at United Way (my project) and a float in the July 4th parade (we won a trophy) just before vacation and had a picnic the day after we got back. Jim finally got to meet some of the other moms.
I'm not teaching for the rest of the summer but will be back with at least 7 courses in September for the fall semester.
I'm easier to keep track of on some of my other blogs -- like At the end of the desert
-- or anything listed on the sidebar in there.

Be careful what you text!
Current mood: artistic
If you send a lot of text messages with your cell be careful what information you are texting.
I have an old cell that I discontinued service on about a year ago and have continued to use it as an alarm clock. About 6 weeks ago I started getting text messages -- not to me -- somebody elses. I tried replying -- I'm not subscribed. I contacted Alltel they said they can't really do anything and suggested I turn the cell phone off. I did turn the message tone off so I wouldn't have to hear them come in but I continue to get 5 to 55 of someone elses messages on my phone daily. I can't batch delete unread text messages so I have to open each one and hit delete. Some have even been from Alltel with passwords. Some have been 'Uncle Joes new phone number', Moms SSN, my new cell number and 'don't give it out' etc. They are apparently not TO the same person, unless that person is a 13 year old married male bisexual bank executive going to college in capris and a pony tail and showering at mom's. They are FROM an assortment of numbers, some that show up several times in a row and also with repeated messages (24 instances of 'pick me up by the bus stop') that included the address.
So -- in a nutshell -- my old cell is acting like a scanner -- and it is just one of millions of old cells that are out there. What you text may be going more places than you know.
