Surprises

You know when you least expect it...someone sends you a surprise. A card, a very sweet card came in the mail today. Cards used to be the way to send a sweet message or a congratulations, and now email take the place for short quick coresponsance. So when someone takes the time to find and buy a greeting card, then signs it and addresses the envelope and even has to put a stamp on it and mail it...then that is so very sweet.

The Kindred are back!!!!!!!!

The Kindred was one of my favorite vampire series on TV...heck it was the only real vamp series on prime time...Then Mark Frankel died in a motorcycle accident and they shut down the entire production.
This is the description from Netflix.com:
In the dark and sinister world of the Kindred, five secret vampire clans clash with mortals and each other in their battle to rule modern-day San Francisco. When cop Frank Kohanek (C. Thomas Howell) begins to suspect the truth about the vampires and threatens to expose them, vampire leader Julian Luna (Mark Frankel) must fight to hold onto their secret -- as well as his title of "Prince of the City."
Any way...I just read that starting tonight at 6:00pm (CDT) the series will be on the Sci Fi channel. Yeah, I know that I'm probably the last to know...and I thought I'd share the news just in case anyone else hadn't heard. Color me doing the happy vamp dance.  Hugs V

Harry Potter at the I-Max

Talking to R about the new Harry Potter film, he mentioned that it would be showing at the Imax. Sounds like a great way to view the new film. The IM in SA is down town and usually a bitch to get to...so I'm wondering about planning a day/evening trip to Austin. Anyone interested in making it a "party?"

Interesting few weeks

Very long Samhain season, folks!!!
My friend Janet crossed the veil while I was at CMA Samhain. I had gone to the hospital and saw her Wednesday before I left town. She passed very early Sunday morning.
A few years ago, she had asked me to perform her service when her time came. I agreed although I really didn't think it would come so soon.
So that was the last gift I could give her, and now I am trying to get back to the mundane process of day by day. That is one of the hardest parts of being clergy. Serving the community and also living your own authentic life.
I'm also making some changes in my class schedule. Several of my dance students have not been able to maintain attendance with an 8:30 pm, Wednesday night class. The owner of the dance school checked the over-all schedule and said that I could have an earlier slot on a different night. I'm moving the class to Thursday at 7:00 pm and I think that will be more accommodating for most of the folks who belly dance. Keeping my fingers crossed.
And an apology for my dear nephew Mike. Sorry dude, I didn't forget your birthday, I just didn't post on the internet that day, and then I realized that I'm missed your day for celebration. My Bad!!!! I hope your day was fun and y'all did something to enjoy!
As the season of rest approaches, I hope everyone has a wonderful celebration, no matter what you call your November and December holidays. May your Thanksgiving and Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Yule, Huelcho, Christmas, or Alban Arthan be merry and filled with love.
