So, Im going to Africa...and I need your help!
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

Here goes, I have the incredible opportunity to co-lead some trips to Ethiopia this summer with Mocha Club and 963 Missions.
I can’t tell you how exciting this opportunity is for me, but it aint cheap. So 963 Missions has a great fundraiser to help people raise the support for their trip, and I think its a pretty stellar one.
They have come up with a program where you can buy fresh organic, fair-trade coffee and cocoa which benefits the producer and helps me raise support.
I know a ton of you are coffee drinkers so I encourage you to try this out. Its great coffee for a great cause, helping out some hard-working farmers, as well as helping me raise money for these trips. And for those of you who aren’t coffee drinkers they have cocoa!
GO to this website and check it out and buy some coffee!!!

This one will take you to the coffee product page

To help with general support, not involving the purchasing coffee, you can send them to

Thanks again for all you prayer and support!

Who’s afrid of being ordinary?
Current mood: sleepy

ME! Dont know what brought that on, so dont ask...Just a random thought after listening to a song. But it made me realize how terrified I am of leading an ordinary life or being viewed as ordinary
Which begs the question, "what is ordinary?" Its different to everyone and I dont even know how to explain mine, or maybe im just too tired to, all I know is its something I fight everyday... ordinary probably isnt so bad, but it is to me right now...

MISSION TRIP TO AFRICA
JULY 28TH-AUGUST 12TH
Dear Myspace Friends-
You might be wondering, why the post? Well myspace is an amazing way to get the word out about anything important. So I figured I would give this a shot because its something important to me and is a passion of mine. This summer I have the amazing opportunity to participate in a mission trip to Africa with African Leadership. I am extremely excited to be a part of this trip.
I have always had a passion for serving on missions trips and in high school and college I was able to go to Mexico, but thats about as far as I have made it. And over the last couple of years I have felt a very strong pull towards Africa.
I am very fortunate to work for a non-profit organization that works in many of the conflicted countries in Africa. It is because of my job I have learned a lot about Africa and what has and is going on in an area of the world were most people will never go, or take the time to notice what is happening to millions.
THE 411
The trip will be from July 28th to Aug 12th. We will start out in Kibera, Kenya. We will be doing VBS, teaching English classes, and moreover, just spending time wherever we are needed most.
From Kibera, we will go to Kampala, Uganda and serve at an orphanage with 134 street children, ranging from 2 to 18 years in age.
From there, some will travel home to the states, but a few of us, including myself, will travel onto an area in Northern Uganda called Gulu, for a couple of days. There we will be visiting an orphanage that is being built to house 480 female refugees that escaped a violent militant group known as The Lords Resistance Army.
WHY AM I WRITING THIS?
I am writing you to let you know that I can not do this trip alone. First and foremost, I need your prayers. I need you to pray for our teams safety and health.
Secondly, this trip is a huge financial commitment. My jobs have been a blessing in so many ways, but I cannot afford this on my own. As a team we feel that the first leap of faith is in knowing that God will provide the money necessary through the support of our friends and family. The total cost of the trip is about $3,800 per person.
Anyone who knows me knows I have an extremely hard time asking for helpespecially financial, unless youre my father, only kidding, sort of. So I consider this a big step for me to post this. Every little bit does help, but please know that if you cant help financially I completely understand. But, it is a tax write-off ;)...If you do decide that you might want to help send me a message on myspace, post to this blog or send any financial support to:

Again THANK YOU so much for your love & support!

Amoeba Records and tattoos

So Im home in the OC as everyone calls it and am enjoying time with my sister. But I have to say that one of the biggest highlights besides shopping and the beach was getting my 5th and 6th tattoo... Thats right I now have 6 tattoos courtesy of Brother Greg at the best damn tattoo parlor... Laguna Tatto, which sits on the beautiful stretch of road that is the Pacific Coast Highway. I have been going to these guys for years and theyre the best... Ill be posting a pic soon
My second highlight of the trip was going to Amoeba records... thanks to my beautiful friend Brittany she enlightened me to the world of Amoeba Records...I had never heard or been to it before and when she found out I was from CA she made me promise to go... I walked in and was like a kid in a candy store... the afternoon was spent rumaging through thousands of CD's and after many hours of searching and a $35 parking ticket from the LAPD I left a very happy girl...

Get Me Out of Cheesecake
Current mood: discontent

I need another job. I love my job with world vision- i only wish i could do it full time. I work at Cheesecake factory in between tour runs, and i have come to the conclusion that i really dont like working there. nothing wrong with it- i just found something else I am passionate about and love doing, so to go from World Vision to cheesecake really depresses me. So if anyone out there has any ideas or options for me- please help me out.
