My European Vacation.....
It's been the most incredible, unforgettable vacation of a lifetime...
We've been to London and tons of surrounding suburbs, including Hever castle (home of Anne Boleyn (wife of Henry the VIII), who was later beheaded (from the 16th century)--- talk about HISTORY!!! Was incredible... just walking around a castle that you knew housed people between four and five hundred years ago... wow... and the garden surrounding the castle... some of the flowers and scenery... would just stun you... Not to mention the journey TO the castle! We sort of got lost (we were on foot)... and we ran into an American family, who led us through a TREACHEROUS area of forestry... rose thorns and wooden fences, plants slapping you in the face as you go along.... (mind you, I was in FLIP FLOPS! lol)... anyway, we got to a crossroads... the Americans went left, Alan and I went right...... when we got to the road...... we realized (after about a 45 minute detour through the woods), we had managed to move forward about 100 yards on the street!!!! LOL... it was pretty funny, though, and we got some great pictures along the way... lol ........... side note: we never saw the Americans at the Castle once we made it there!!!!
Another suburb of London we visited, Parliament Hill (one of my PERSONAL favorites! I'll post pics! Just absolutely beautiful)... was stunning... an enormous hill overlooking London... we intend on going back before I leave and watching the sun go down looking down that hill, sharing a bottle of wine... Does life GET any better than this??? :)
We also visited Bromley (where he lives, and I've gotten quite comfortable with actually!), Beckinham, Pench, Watford, and plenty more I may not be remembering at the moment... it's amazing how accustomed I've come to life in England.. I can travel all by myself on the trains and busses!! LOL... it's crazy, because when I first arrived, I was SO nervous to even SPEAK, because of my Southern American accent, and NOW I'm acting like an Londoner mySELF! :p ... Really, the fact that I've been more or less LIVING in a small town just outside London for a few weeks, has taught me SO much about culture, and REALLY opened my eyes... SO much more than just a European vacation could. I couldn't have asked for a better experience..
Then within London, the river walk along the River Thames, passing the London Eye... (can we say WOW!!! I'll post more pics lol)... Westminster Abby (another absolutely incredible building... constructed hundreds and hundreds of years ago.. just stunning, the detail carved into this building... and then once inside (sigh) the site was absolutely breathtaking... not to mention the history.... graves of royalty dating as far back as 1,000 years... obviously beyond what young America has!) :p .., Big Ben, St. James' park in London, The West End (where we recently saw The Buddy Holly Musical... 'Buddy', which was BRILLIANT for the record!)... we've been to The Top Shop on Oxford Street... inCREDIBLE experience... SO many people.. We've been to Trafalgar Square at St. Martins in the Field Church, where we saw the London Concertante... the most beautiful live orchestra I've ever had the pleasure of seeing/hearing)... also on that same square, one day we saw a famous Korean band playing (not sure who) and THOUSANDS of Korean fans there going WILD... ALSO on Trafalgar Square we visited the National Gallery in London... where we were surrounded by art by the likes of Van Gaugh....... some of the art there... WOW.... We still are still planning on going to another musical tomorrow night called Spamalot... based off the movie Monte Python and the Holy Grail.. (SO excited about that!!)...
One other night, we, by chance, booked some tickets to see Cat Power, an American singer.. at the Hammersmith Apollo Theater in London... while the two acts before her were LESS than impressive (lol, ok they were HORRID!!!), she was just incredible.. you could drift away listening to her music.. so soothing and beautiful... and the Apollo Theater was awesome as well... another building that had been there for around a century, a place that had housed vast numbers of incredibly famous acts, musicians, concerts... the atmosphere was so wonderful...
THAT just scratches the surface of London and the surrounding areas......... it's been incredible.....
We've been to Paris, up close and personal with Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo... all encased in the INDESCRIBABLE building of the famous Louvre.... when you stepped outside to the glass pyramids..... it literally took your breath away... the beauty was incredible, and the size............ was crazy... just enormous.. we only saw a quarter of the building and we had been there hours... it's overwhelming really... We also, of COURSE, went to see the Eiffel Tower... which would blow anyone's mind when you saw it close... it's SO much bigger than you think it is............ we went up to the second level.. and overlooked Paris.. another one of those 'take your breath away' moments.... like a make-believe world... just stunning (pics are provided but they don't do it justice! lol).... After we came down from the tower, we laid in the grass... it was a BEAUTIFUL day... it was just absolutely surreal that I was laying there looking up at the Eiffel Tower... just yards away from me... what a rush! We visited the Cathedral of Notre Dame... we were so exhausted at this point, that we didn't go inside, but again, the structure of the building was just awesome.. and the atmosphere of the surroundings was incredible... a river going right through a major city, shops and restaurants buzzing with people, people sitting on benches, with 20 or 30 pigeons eating out of their HANDS, a VAST amount of different languages and accents buzzing around you... it's so hard to describe, and so incredible to experience... the culture in France... is obviously different.. the language barrier makes it difficult, but we managed to figure out the Metro (underground system)! We thought that was SUCH an accomplishment! lol... it was so great... one of the COOLEST things about going to Paris, was the travel getting there! We took the Eurostar.. which is a train that goes underneath the British Channel connecting England and France... it was SUCH a quick, smooth, easy ride... SO much better than flying..
We just got back from Edinburgh, Scotland, yesterday... and while the journey to and FROM there was rough, ie: screaming babies on planes, 2 hour delays in flights, turbulence like CRAZY on the flight there, lol... (and I am NOT a fan of flying anyway!! :P).. I had a DEATH grip on Alan's hand lol...).... while all of that wasn't fun, Edinburgh is undoubtedly the most beautiful site I've ever seen in all of my life... hands down...
I climbed up to Arthur's Seat..... which overlooked Edinburgh... the ocean, the rolling hills, the castles... just absolutely, literally breath-taking..., it was magnificent... words can't describe it... It was such a beautiful day the first day, too, and we stopped and laid in the grass just south of Edinburgh Castle.... and just soaked up the sun... it was absolutely serene.. Then we went to have dinner at an Indian Restaurant where I had lamb for the first time!!! It was SOOOO good! We sat there for hours just talking and enjoying the scene around us... so peaceful and relaxing...
After we left there, we went to a little bar on 'Royal Mile'... which leads to the Castle... it was a simple enough bar, VERY Scottish... but what made it REALLY great, was the musical entertainment... what drew us in there, was hearing a man singing an Eagle's song (Take it Easy)... and we thought, 'Country singing???'.... so we popped in, and as it would have it, the guy was FAR from country, but had a DEEP Scots accent! But, WOW, was he good... he sang everything from Eagles, to Creedance Clearwater Revival, to Maggie May (and old Rod Steward Song), to 'You're so Vain' lol... and so many more... it was just incredible.. he had this tiny little bar FULL of people dancing and singing along... at which he said at the end of one of his songs, 'There is nothin' funnier than watching drunk white people try to dance!' lol (and NO I was NOT one of those people!!) lol.... it was the perfect ending to a perfect day... not to mention the fact that when we left at 11:30PM it was STILL daylight outside!!!! I aint never seen anything like that in my life! lol
The next day, we spent the day at Edinburgh Castle, which was just awesome.. huge, the view of the town was amazing, the castle made of ancient gray stone, amazingly tall, tiny holes you could peek through (originally meant for pointing guns through at Englishmen!! lol)... there was SO much history there, just incredible, not to mention BEAUTIFUL)...
All in all, it has been just amazingly wonderful. I've seen and done so many things I never dreamed I would do. I'm one lucky girl, that's for sure, and the trip aint even over yet!!!
I do miss my son, and I'm really looking forward to seeing him again very soon, but I don't regret the trip. It was a chance for me to get away, take a breather, relax a little bit, and regroup myself... So now, I can be an even better mother, a happy mother, for my little boy...
OMG!! See, there has been SO much happening that I keep remembering things!!! Another thing we've done, is gone to a town in Ilford.......... where my paternal grandmother was raised! How cool is THAT! We took pics of me standing in front of her house.... she could have very well been standing in that very spot when she was MY age.... it was surreal walking down her street... imagining her being there.... imagining my grandfather (who I never met).. standing there... we also went to a nearby pub for dinner and a glass of wine and pondered on the idea that she could have sat at the very table we were sitting at... I'll post pics! lol

The Lumberjack.....
Current mood: giggly
Category: Writing and Poetry
This is just AWESOME!! LOLOL
He's a lumberjack and he's OK He spanks all night and he works all day. He chops down trees, no fiddle-faddle, Fashions the wood to a spanking paddle, Broad and smooth and round and flat, Made for the bottom of a naughty brat.
Goes on the pull in downtown bars, Tells every girl that he'll spank her arse, Each one blushes and grins with glee Eager to go 'cross a lumberjack's knee.
He's a lumberjack and he's OK, He spanks all night and he works all day. He takes her home and pretends to frown, "Girlie, those panties are coming down! A cute round bottom is what you've got, So it's gonna be spanked till it's burning hot!"
She yelps, "Please don't! Oh, I'll be good!" But he spanks with hand, with leather and wood, Till her soft bare bottom is cherry-red, Then he gives her a cuddle and it's off to bed.
He's a lumberjack and he's OK, He spanks all night and he works all day. Wakes her at dawn with a loving kiss, "Time for another good spanking, Miss!"
And despite all her yelps and wriggles and shrieks Rekindles the blush on those lovely cheeks. He's a lumberjack and he's OK, And when he shows up the girls all say, "Hey, here comes the guy who'll see us right - We'll all have lovely hot bottoms tonight!"
And the weekend he reckons is really swell: He can spank all night - and all day as well!

The Geography of a Woman
Current mood: calm
Category: Blogging
I just thought this was kinda funny:)
The Geography of a Woman:
Between the ages of 15 - 18 a woman is like China or Iran. Developing at a sizzling rate with a lot of potential but as yet still not free or open.
Between the ages of 18 - 21 a woman is like Africa or Australia. She is half discovered, half wild and naturally beautiful with bushland around the fertile deltas.
Between the ages of 21 - 30 a woman is like America or Japan. Completely discovered, very well developed and open to trade especially with countries with cash or cars.
Between the ages of 30 - 35, she is like India or Spain. Very hot, relaxed and convinced of its own beauty.
Between the ages of 35 - 40 a woman is like France or Argentina. She may have been half destroyed during the war but can still be a warm and desirable place to visit.
Between the ages of 40 - 50 she is like Yugoslavia or Iraq. She lost the war and is haunted by past mistakes. Massive reconstruction may now be necessary.
Between the ages of 50 - 60 she is like Russia or Canada. Very wide, quiet and the borders are practically unpatrolled but the frigid climate keeps people away.
Between the ages of 60 - 70 a woman is like England or Mongolia. With a glorious and all conquering past but alas no future. After 70, they become Albania or Afghanistan. Everyone knows where it is, but no one wants to go there.
----------------------
The Geography of a Man:
Between the ages of 15 - 70 a man is like Germany. A strange landscape, but filled with beer and thoughts of sex.

Five new family members.....
Current mood: indescribable
Category: Pets and Animals
WOW what a day! To say the least...lol
A friend of mine, Cass gave me her cat about three weeks ago... she was gonna have to take her to the pound because she can't have animals in her duplex.... so the softy I am for animals decided to take her... Smoky is the cat's name....
Anyway, so I've had the cat for about three weeks, like I said.... And today, I'm sitting on the couch, juz chillin'...:) with smoky in my lap..... all of the sudden she gets real tense, and starts meowing this horrible awful sound..... So I moved her over away from me and then the CRAZIEST thing happened!!!!
She started giving BIRTH!!! lol... I shit you not!!! lol I saw a little tail coming out and it COMPLETELY freaking freaked me out... I'm not gonna lie... I was wiggin.... seriously wiggin... lol.... I couldn't believe my eyes.... the baby just kept coming, and then a slimy looking alien thing was hanging from her.... (ok, I know that sounds gross but OH WELL:)) and momma cat started chasing it around in circles!!!! lol.... mean time, this little slimy being all of the sudden opens its mouth and lets out a tiny mew.....
OH MY GOSH..... I witnessed the miracle of life... it may not sound like much now, but GOSH it was crazy!!!! But I'm not gonna lie.... I was still freaked out, grossed out, and was wiggin.... lol
It's taken me all day to get over that! Anyway.... well, my cat dissapeared for several hours.... she finally came back out a little while ago to eat and drink..... And after she finished, she showed me to her kittens!!!! So sweet!!:) There are FIVE of them.... I seriously can't believe it!!! I didn't even know she was pregnant!!! She's so little anyway!:) And there are FIVE of them!!!!!
I'm still in shock, but I have a precious little family of baby kittens in my closet lol.... I attached some pics...Talk about a CRAZY day!!!!!!! Anybody want a sweet new kitten in a couple of months???:)
FREE TO A GOOD HOME!!!!
lol... what am I gonna do with six cats?????
Jeeeeeeez, How do I get myself into these situations????

The Verdict....
Current mood: embarrassed
Category: Life
Well, here's the verdict..
I got written up, and sent home for the day without pay.
It sucks, but at the same time, I'm relieved he didn't fire me.. It really went through his head, but I'm blessed that he took a chance on me....
So I had to take the walk of shame and clock out and leave... that was prolly the hardest part about it... how embarassing!!!
Ok, well, I'm going to try to clean my apartment and get some food. Hope everybody's having a better day than me!!!!!

Wanna Hear About My Day Today?
Current mood: scared
Category: Life
Ohhhhhhh my goodness I had a LOOOOOONGGGGG day today!!!!! It all started last night... I got home and couldn't find my debit card.... well, by this time, the bank had already closed so I had no way to get any cash and I have NOOOOOO food (seriously, absolutely nothing!) at my apartment.... !!! So anyway, I scrounged up a few quarters and went to the dollar store and got my lil man something to eat, but I didn't eat anything... Wellll, no big deal really... just went to bed, BUT then this morning, I overslept... I gotta be to work at 8:00 and it takes me 20 minutes to take my son to school and get myself to work... When my eyes popped open, the clock said 7:38.... EEEKKKK, so I had approximately 2 minutes to get ready and leave!!:) lol... I woulda just called and said I'm gonna be a few minutes late, but I was an hour and a half late on Monday!!!! So I could NOT do it again!!!! So I yelled and hollered and ran around like a crazy person, (my poor baby boy!:) lol) and somehow managed to get to work in the nick of time (with a wet head)... but AGAIN, I didn't get to eat...lol... my son fortunately gets fed at school... so we were good there...
ANYWAY, all that said, about 30 minutes after I got to work it dawned on me how freaking starving I was and how lighted headed and confused I was...lol.... I don't function well without food!:) lol...
So I got it in my head that I was gonna run to the bank, get some cash, and grab something to eat.... Well, my boss asked me to take care of a patient for a procedure, but I completely wasn't thinking about that... I couldn't even think straight...lol... from the hunger pains... so I told one of the girls that I work with that I REALLY needed to go get some grub, and asked her if she'd tell my boss for me... b/c he wasn't available at that point... anyhoo, WELLLLL, while I was gone the SHIT hit the fan lemme tell ya... I was gone no more than 20 minutes, but the department went CRAZY busy (of course, that's my luck for ya!) and my boss was PISSED OFF... I mean, REALLY mad that I left....
Well, when I got back we were all so busy....
He said, "Debbie, come here!!!".... and I did, but told him we had a stat in ICU... did he want me to take care of that first? He said yeah, and when I got back, I said, "What did you need"? He was too busy at the moment and said, "Later."....
Geez... well, the rest of the day was crazy crazy busy... I didn't get a lunch and none of got to sit down ALL day...
SOOOO, I'm a little nervous about what my future holds in the morning... I don't THINK he'd fire me... b/c he lets me get away with a LOT of stuff... I'm SO bad about being on time, and I'm always finding SOME kinda trouble to get into with him... Being late, forgetting to turn paperwork in, forgetting "assignments" he sends me on, being too loud with my laugh in the light room, (lol seriously!:)), and the list goes on... I do a good job, and he loves me to death... I THINK!:)... but I'm just a little worried that I may have gotten to his breaking point ya know? I mean, I don't intentionally do bad things, but I think I may just kinda be a ditz!!!
Soooo, I'm a little apprehensive to say the least.... I'm sure I've got a write up brewing, and I prolly deserve it, but I just hope that's all he does!!!:/
I'll tell ya one thing, the suspense is freakin' killing me!!!! This is worse than any punishment he could come up with... seriously.... (except gettin' canned of course)
PHEWWWW, I'm ready to get to bed and get tomorrow morning over with!!!!
Ok, well, I guess I'm done venting now... Say a little prayer for Deb!!!!!:/
It could get ugly in the morning....
