No FEAR!
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

I think I heard a total of 3 people wish me a Merry Christmas this year. Everyone else is saying happy holidays. I say we set a reminder for ourselves for next year to say Merry Christmas! to everyone, especially at the mall when you're buying presents so that people remember what they're celebrating. I understand happy holidays but I miss Merry Christmas.

Info About Spring ASL & Interpreting Event.
Category: Jobs, Work, Careers

Hi Everyone:

Just a reminder about the Spring ASL & Interpreting celebration in Long Beach, California on May 9th and 10th, 2008 hosted by www.OhSoEZ.com.

There are 17 presenters scheduled to be in attendance and there are presently 25 topics on the agenda.  The Friday night workshops will be three hours.  The Saturday workshops will be 2 hour or 4 hour workshops.  This will allow you to attend multiple topics.

It might be fun to go with 3 or 4 friends and then split up and go to different topics.  Then over the following few weeks, you and your friends could mentor each other by re-teaching the topic you learned and practicing the skills you learned.  What a great way to build teamwork and to mentor each other.  Everyone benefits!

This is a great opportunity to network as well.  There are already participants coming from various parts of Southern California and Nevada.

The Saturday night event "A World of ASL Stories Open Mic Night, Banquet & Silent Auction" promises to be a fun event.  CODA comedian Keith Wann is scheduled to be the M.C.  He will be telling some of his hilarious stories and skits.  The Open Mic aspect of the event means that you too can tell some of your own stories or do short skits.  YOU can tell a story, tell a joke, do a skit, do ASL Handshape Stories or ABC Stories or whatever you want to do.  Because this event hosts a Silent Auction for the California Home for the Adult Deaf, there will be several Deaf people attending, so even being in the audience and watching will be awesome.

Speaking of the California Home for the Adult Deaf (CHAD), it is the only residence facility of its kind in California.  Deaf senior citizens are afforded a place where Signed Communication is the norm instead of the exception.  CHAD does not receive funding from the Federal or State governments, so anything you can do to support CHAD is definitely welcomed and appreciated!  Donate an item to the Silent auction or donate money directly to CHAD or donate your time as a volunteer.  Please support this awesome facility.

Early bird registration ends on December 31st.  For more details visit www.OhSoEZ.com.  There is a flyer there you can download or you can register online.  Join the OhSoEZ yahoo group, too.  Make sure your read the past bulletins to find out about a special savings opportunity.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

THANKS LOGO!
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

I saw "Some of My Best Friends" marathon on LOGO yesterday.  That's the show I first saw Alec Mapa.  He was the funniest part of that show, although I'll admit that the reason I first watched it cuz Mr. Hottie Jason Bateman starred in it.  Lucky me I got to watch Danny Cecchi who was pretty hot at the time and the hilarious Ms. Mapa.  You should watch it if you get a chance.  Oh, by the way, the sister in the show is the maid in the remake of "The Parent Trap".

I knew I was wrong.
Category: Religion and Philosophy

Alec was laughing when he called me an ASSHOLE.    I need to have more funny people around me so that when that kind of thing happens I can take it for what it's worth.  Sheesh.   Don't be hatin on him.

A TV Star Called Me An ASSHOLE!
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

Where are the tabloids when I need them?  Papparazoids are you there?  Someone buy my story!  The lovely and ever hilarious Alec Mapa has called me an ASSHOLE, and yes he typed it all in caps so I dont think he was laughing when he typed it.  If you go to his blog and look up his blog about VH-1 Reality Magic show, you'll see I left him a comment.  When you see his pic with the magician you'll notice he has a very trim face, in fact, he and the skinny magician almost have the same bone structure.  My comment to him was a cute reference to his former "chipmunk" cheeks.  Now, I'm an avid reader of his blog.  I look in on his page at least twice a week to see what he has to say.  In one of his old blogs he said of himself that when he was on Desperate Housewives with Eva Longoria, his face looked as though he had been "storing nuts for the winter".

Since I happen to have an excellent memory for that kind of thing, I thought I would compliment him by musing about what had happened to his chipmunk cheeks since he is looking so svelt these days.  He shot me back a reply (in his blog) that includes calling me an "ASSHOLE".  Holy Crap!  When I first saw it, I was floored and saddend. I even replied back apologizing cuz my comment sure wasn't meant to be mean, it was my subtle way of complimenting his pursuit of weight loss which he clearly talks about in various blog entries.

So I wonder, did he actually think I was trying to be mean or did he laugh?  I also wonder, is he being playful by calling me an ASSHOLE or is he mad?  I'll clarify my end...I was trying to be playful, however, presently, I perceive his response to be mean.  Without a tone of voice to go with the words am I reading him wrong?  What do you all think?  Shoot your comments here on my blog, not on his, there's no need to clutter his site up with my personal crap.

Where the hell have I been?
Current mood: awake
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

No where is the real answer.  The month of January was spent in front of television sets or doing some part time work.  Now that the full time job has kicked back in, I've fallen behind on all kinds of stuff.

Plus, Sparky, my puppy keeps me busy.  We play or go for walks that end up totalling a few hours per day so my blog has suffered.

I have to say I was kinda sad that Anna Nicole Smith died so suddenly and right after her son Daniel passed away.  I used to enjoy the Anna Nicole show on E!  When her son died I felt sorry for her because it's such a heartache to add to her already stressful life.  I have a feeling she had a bit of a broken heart.  There weren't any interviews after Daniel's death where she could even smile.  Since I'm a believer in an afterlife, I hope she finds peace and happiness there with her son.

Ok, so I started watching that Top Designer show...I'm not actually sure what it is called, but Johnathan Adler (did I spell either of his names right?) is the main judge and Todd Oldham is the host.  They both have stores or showrooms on Melrose Blvd.  I live right in the middle of them.  The Pacific Design Center, where the contest is taking place is also just down the street from me.  I think Todd Oldham's shop is actually right across from the Pacific Design Center, if it's not Todd's then it's Jonathan's (I spelled it differently while I try to decide which is right).  In any case that show is full of screaming queens including Misters Oldham and Adler.  Let's see if it keeps me captivated.

I could promise to write more frequently but then I would have to bust into song...lalala...Promises, promises, that's all I ever get, oh oh, that's all I ever get..lalala.

Get Moon Trent Out of My Head!
Current mood: aggravated
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities

Ok, So I added a different Moon Trent song to my profile.  Fortunatly, it's not the one that rings in my head even during my sleep.  Have you ever found a song so freakin obnoxious that you cant get it out of your head?  Listen to Moon Trent's "Modesto" and see if it takes over your brain the way it has mine.  I no longer listen to the song cuz all I have to hear is one bar of his voice belting out MODESTO DODO DO DODODO and my mind becomes totally consumed with it.  I've even woken up in the middle of the night with it ringing in my dreams.  The only way I've been able to shut it up is to put on a DVD of Frasier.  And let me just say, I love Frasier, but I'm not happy about having to put it on at 3 am to tune out Moon Trent.  I used to sleep in peace and quiet, but no longer.  Moon!!!! Your kitchy krooning is killing me!

On a side note, did you know there's at least two gay guys on the Apprentice, and I suspect a lesbian.
