Writing

Finally been writing again. The music that the band and I are working on really inspires me. It will be very different to the Yoriyos stuff. The only thing that will link the two stages i have gone through thus far will be my voice and lyrics. We will also adopt a new name for ourselves. Well, we have done so already, but I wont reveal it yet...and no it's not the one you think it is.

Yes we are going to tour the States one day....we have been asked to come this october, it's a bit of a rush seeing as we are still working on the new material...but we'll try our best.

We are also trying to put together a new website. I'm happy more people (the band) are involved now. shifts the focus and lightens the load, more heads working for the same goal.

We will let you know how things progress.

Peace to all

On the Eve

4th of July, 2008

If Time and tide will yet conduce
Divine Communique and galactical Truths
The give me back my womb and loosen the noose
Outcast cast your look.

My Passion, Your Hunger, Our Yearning
The Fortuitous wheel that keeps turning
No packs in this hunt, guided by the moon
Seekers of Wisdom soon find their Tombs
Then find You.

Progressive and Contemplative...
Current mood: jedi

...two of the states i live by. try it (available to buy on my website for a reduced sum of £2999.95. terms and conditions apply).

Had two wonderful surprises this week. We were visited by our Japanese friend Naoko, who was a joy to be with. Gave us all a spiritual boost with her vibes and peaceful company. Didnt get to play her a full run through of the songs as we wanted too, but next time we'll play more (just remember those chords CGDG and Em and Am for the chorus).

The second surprise was our Canadian friend Dana. Much too short was our meeting. Paint our studio walls like the Heavens and we'll write you out a song about getting there.

Hope we get to see and sing to you all sometime soon.

Yoriyos Interview and Live Session with Bob Harris
Current mood: blissful
Category: Music

Kisses to you all,

this busy cat Yoriyos has found time to lay down some tracks for ya’ll to groove to. It’s an unplugged session with the legend Bob Harris on Radio 2. We will be playing live and talking a bit this Saturday night on BBC Radio 2. show starts at 23:00...dont know when we’re due on...but yeah...it’s a late late night with the boys. Dig it, turn on, tune in and drop out.

Hallam and Karim, from the far out band, will provide lead guitar and conga, embellishing the tracks and hopefully enhancing your trip.

if you miss the show, you can always hear it back next week on Bobs Page.

Peace Lovers

busy

so sorry for not being on here much...replying to messages and keeping ya’ll updated. i’ve had a crazy march....mad march...that’s it. right now it’s video editing time and i’m making a rehearsal room for me and my band. we are clearing out a place that stunk and was real dirty (two dead rats buried so far). but anyway, it’s exciting. we’re going to make it psychedelic. once we’re into a groove we’ll start letting people come down, turn on tune in a drop out...and trip out hopefully. my main focus is the band right now.

i hope everyone is well. if someone wants to help me out with this page and spread the word etc...give me a shout.

peace

New York Part 2: Potatoes and Peas
Current mood: awake
Category: Blogging

there are no boundaries in art, the possibilities are endless. this freedom is what chains me to it, language of the Divine, Infinite. you put your brush to the canvas and let the sacred imagination take you where it wills. you let the camera roll and sit back as the story unfolds, always so different to how you envisioned it in your head. the story of the video is another reminder to me that no matter how much you plan something, ultimately you've little control over the way things turn out. i enjoy this instability though, and it is exactly that, believe me. with time comes acceptance and surrender to fate. im not there yet, but i get the idea.

today fate has locked me out of my apartment. she feels i ought to soak my soul in the cool tasteless rain of the lower east side, before sending me off to a coffee bar to write this all down on a napkin.

there's an english guy sitting next to me. i felt like starting up a conversation with my fellow englishman, but then i overheard him badmouthing McCartney (that's Sir Paul McCartney to you and me) and that just put me off. he wasn't my favorite Beatle, but i'd sooner lick puddles on the grey streets of Ludlow than pick this guys brain, i thought.

Tom is off doing Yoga, that's the only reasonable explanation i could think of for him not being in the apartment cooking me up some lunch. it's my turn to whip up tonights feast. cooking vegan food is no easy task. a chicken in a butchers shop window, just off west 29th street, took pity on me picking through the bins looking for tonights ingredients. she offered me her legs, but only a fool would settle for anything less than two breast in this city. i moved on.

potatoes and peas please. that was the first and second course.

with the pixies cranked up to 11 on the hi-fi, i think it's time for my late night crawl.
got pictures too, but that would have to wait till next time.

over and out

New York Part 1: The Final Frontier
Current mood: adventurous
Category: Blogging

So i'm in New York to do this video, we're shooting it somewhere else actually (Vermont i think) but working out the details here. To me NY is London on a grand scale. we got our own Bronx and Harlem called Brixton and Harlesden, we also have a Soho too, and Central Park was modelled on our very own Hyde Park. I dont feel like a tourist, though im most certainly being ripped off because i am one. The accent gives it away, and suddenly the prices rise and the dollars take flight.

Yesterday i took a ride with my friend Tom around Central Park, got in this bike buggy and a lovely lady wheeled us off, up and down and round and round the enormous park. She'd say something like "and over there on the left is where they filmed the park scene in Home Alone" "and over there is where they filmed Serendipity, on the ice rink...you know Donald Tramp...i mean Trump....he owns that ice rink...and over there is his hotel" then she'd continue without taking a breath "to the right those buildings over there is where they filmed Ghostbusters" "The building with the red tiles is owned by Woody Allen" "Demi Moore owns an apartment there" and on and on she went, making sure i got the full Central Park experience. I couldn't care less about anything she had mentioned up to this point to be honest, and so I managed to interrupt her mid sentence asked her what her thoughts were on the up coming elections. She smiled, maybe even relieved to not have to monotonously continue talking about things she obviously wasn't interested in either. The next hour was highly enlightening. This is what i love about traveling, meeting and talking to people, listening to their views and expressing mine. Tom got out the buggy and started to walk instead. "I'm 25 man, I've gone through that stage of questioning everything and its just pointless when you cant do anything about it" he told me later. And i do see where he is coming from, it is easier to just soldier on and avoid depressing yourself with Political and Social issues, to which my conversation with the lady had soon turned to. But i enjoy it, the struggle and the constant re-educating and evaluating of oneself and ones views. we talked about whether there was such a thing as "democracy", she didn't think so!!! (this was refreshing coming from an American). we talked about cooperate companies influences and running of governments and how their interests are put before the interest of the people...and on and on. we finished our journey just by Strawberry Fields (at my request), then with a big smile on her glowing face and the solemn sun sparkling in her foxy eyes she said to me "that''ll be 100 bucks please", and I had this unsettling feeling we were about to be royally robbed. After she left we asked other bike riders how much they charged, all said 40-45 bucks. I guess what it comes down to is everybody wants a bite of that Big Apple. Morality is on his way out fast. We walked through Strawberry Fields, sat down and took in the beautiful surroundings, silent and absorbing the peace of nature, the final frontier.
