Ramadan (a Holy month in Islam) is due in less than a week, to celebrate it Yusuf has recorded a song with some kids and has put it up on his site as a FREE download. It's from his forthcoming kids album "I Look I See 2" due out in December.
Yusuf special guest at Live Earth concert in Hamburg
This Saturday 7th July sees Yusuf headlining at the awesome Live Earth event in Hamburg. As the evening's special guest he will close the concert in what promises to be a sensational finale.
The charitable event takes place in the HSH Nordbank Arena and aims to raise awareness of the dangers of climate change. Yusuf will be joined on the day by a host of other hugely successful musicians, including Shakira, Chris Cornell, Enrique Iglesias, Snoop Dogg, Jan Delay, Mia., Roger Cicero, Reamonn, Michael Mittermeier, Silbermond and Juli.
Yusuf will be in The Times T2 supplement this Friday 6th July, discussing his life, his beliefs, what it's been like to return to the commercial music scene after almost 3 decades away.
University of Exeter has awarded Yusuf the Honorary Doctorate of Doctor of Laws to recognise his outstanding contribution to music and to improving understanding between Islamic and Western Cultures. Yusuf will collect his award at a special ceremony at the University on Tuesday 10th July.
Yusuf will be participating at a Charity Event in support of Archbishop Desmond Tutu's Peace Centre in South Africa and Deborah & Carlos Santana's Milagro foundation in Bochum, Germany.
He will be speaking at the 'Challenge Future' conference on June 30th and also performing a live set with his band in the Charity concert on 1st July. The prestigious will also be attended by Carlos Santana and Peter Maffay.
Yusuf's Café Session concert at Porchester Hall marked his return to full-length performance after a 28 year gap. The DVD includes classics both old and new, as well as extra's 'A Few Good Songs'; an hour long BBC production with Alan Yentob looking at Yusuf's life, loves, his music and beliefs. And Side Orders; featuring music videos from his revered comeback album An Other Cup and some exciting unseen performances.

The past 12 months have been very special for Yusuf. Having made a return to the live arena after an absence of over 28 years, and releasing his critically acclaimed album 'An Other Cup', Yusuf has been awarded the prestigious Ivor Novello for Outstanding Song Collection. Winners in recent years include U2, New Order and Freddie Mercury & Queen. Congratulations Yusuf!
The BBC Sessions DVD is out very soon and here is where you can catch Yusuf in the coming weeks...
31st May - Yusuf will be attending a theatrical screening of the Cafe Session at the Curzon Cinema, Soho at 6.45pm. He will also be giving a short acoustic performance followed by an interview with Danny Baker.
12th June - Yusuf will be doing a Q and A at a screening of the Cafe Session in the Showroom Cinema, Sheffield at 8.30pm. Presenter to be announced.
