I’m The Guy Who Hates The 4th of July
I am patriotic and I love my country.
What I hate is fireworks, firecrackers and M80s (BOOM!) at 3:00 am on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of July.
Then there are the inevitable news stories, A child had his fingers blown off... several houses were burned to the ground... a man was burned... a wild fire started with fireworks...
All good fun.
Signed, A Grumpy Old Man
BTW, I live in a corner house and seriously hate it when people cut across my lawn. I have become "The guy who hates the 4th of July & tells people to get off of my lawn"

A Trip To Scranton PA
On Sunday I surprised my wife with a trip to the location of her favorite show THE OFFICE.
I didn't tell her where we were going. The street is a dead end, and the business park is at the end. When we got there I said "Oh damn, a dead end" and pulled over in front of the building. She sat for a few seconds and then looked to her right and said "Hey... Scranton!" It was so cool, she was so excited.
We love THE OFFICE!

Great Blood and Ink
I just finished reading ALEISTER ARCANE by Steve Niles. My dear friend Desha Dunnahoe recommended it and I just loved it. The series is three issues, and would make a great short film.
Pick them up and check it out!

Film Location Hunt
Two of my good friends and I decided to go and visit some film locations on Saturday. Something we have never done and is probably one of those things you never do in your own home town, but tourists do.
It was really a blast even though most of the day was spent messing around. Also I had some work to attend to in the early afternoon so we got a late start.
The photos below were taken by by friend Tony Baron.
The Nightmare on Elm St. House where Nancy lived.
The Doyle house from Halloween where Michael Myers almost got Jamie Lee Curtis.
The Wallace house from Halloween where Annie was killed while babysitting. It is across the street from the Doyle house.

My friend Jon Bright on the steps that were used in the Laurel and Hardy film "The Music Box" (1932) In the film Laurel and Hardy repeatedly attempt to deliver a piano to a house at the top of the steps.

Me on the Music Box steps. Unfortunately some disrespectful assholes have tagged the steps and even scratched tags into the plaque that was placed on the steps to commemorate and remember the comedy duo.

The Music Box steps without the fat guy on them. They go so much higher then you can see in the photo. If you have not seen the film I highly recommend it. It is brilliant. It is available on DVD. This set also has "The Sons of the Desert" on it, one of their best films. The Music Box on DVD

A really fun day with two really great friends. We plan to do it again soon.

The Good News on Hi-Def Players
I would say that it is official, the Hi-Def format is on it's way out.
Toshiba has announced that they will no longer manufacture a hi-def player. Also Walmart, Best Buy and Netflix will faze out hi-def titles.
Now I think it is horrible to see any industry go under, but I do see some good in this.
When Hi-Def and Blu-Ray formats were getting strong I bought one of each of the players. There were titles on each format that I wanted and I just didn't want to be unable to get certain titles.
Now that hi-def is on it's way out, am I sorry I got the player? HELL NO! Now I will be able to buy a ton of hi-def disks at a huge discount. Hi-Def is an amazing format, I love it, and I love Blu-Ray.
Now that the players are being returned to stores in record numbers you can get them for a song. And in a few weeks to a months time they will be practically giving them away. I say go get one and take advantage of the sales on the disks that are sure to come.
Hi-Def looks and sounds amazing. Take advantage, the time is now. In a month there won't be any new titles. but right now there are a lot of great films on hi-def.
I'll be there at every sale scoping up more hi-def disks!

This Blog not for the timid - Invincble Corn
What the hell is up with corn?
We all know that for some damn reason corn will not digest. This amazes me. Corn is invincible.
We have all seen corn after it has passed through us. Now I swear that I thoroughly chewed my corn, but yet there it is back in one piece. What the hell! Not only does it not digest, it rejuvenates!
We need to put our top scientists and most brilliant minds to work on this right away. I need answers.
My joke on the subject,
We all have seen products get updates, some are successful some are not.
Tide, now with StainScrubbers!
Coke became "New Coke" which worked out great.
Baby Ruth bar now with corn! Didn't work out so well.

Axe You Sumpin’
Don't even get me started on "Axe" Is it really that much harder to pronounce "Ask" Is this laziness? Is it just cooler in "The Hood" to speak like a fool?.... Sorry "Foo"
I actually had an elementary school teacher say to me "Axe the woman at the front desk" Sad.
"My Baby's Daddy" "How She Move"
Ahhhhh!
